Hey guys,

Check out these headlights...... Not bad for 35 bones..... I wouldn't mind picking up a set and getting rid of that old yellow glow from the headlights.

Damn, those are nice!! The only thing is the "running lights" wouldn't be that great on our cars because the headlights are always down unless "driving" at night. I am pretty sure that the lrunning lights are off when the headlight is activate. Not to mention that on coming traffic would be piss of if the had to stare at two little blue dots the whole time!!! icon_lol.gif

I already have those. I took out the blue bulb and used it in my marker lights. Now they glow white like my headlights icon_biggrin.gif

you can get the same thing but cheaper at your local autozone. just ask them which headlights fit your car. visit their website for the options. i forget the part number. i didnt know that H4's did fit our cars tho.

I'm pretty sure Autozone only has halogens. These are xenons. And yes, they are worth buying, but I got mine from Procarparts.com. $30 US. They are probably just somebody's corner preformance shop in CA, because they shipped them to me in a cardboard box wrapped in Japanese newspaper...So I was a little sketchy at first, but they were easy to install, and so far work great. I wouldn't know about the ones off ebay, but who knows...

At www.procarparts.com go to Search Keyword, and type in "6054" That's what I got. Slight blue tint when you look at them straight on, nice white light on the road, and they sure do look cool along with hyper white bulbs in the marker lights.

yeah i know, they're xenon gas filled, not HID like the s2000 or the high-end luxury cars you mentioned.
I just tend to think in steps. Halogen: blah. "xenon": cool and cheap, HID: expensive and not for me or my car

my point exactly. they are fine and dandy, but if you just want a brighter bulb and a blue color, you can get that at autozone. i have had a few buddies with these xenon bulbs burn out after long continous hours (guys who run with them on all the time for weeks of heavy daily driving). i think that if you want to get the blue glow, its smarter just to get the halogen with the blue overtop. its all personal pref. didnt mean to jump on your back. my bad.

jeff

EDIT : yes, the bulbs at autozone are just halogen filled, but they have a higher wattage than the stock bulbs and have blue tint to them.

no it's all good man. I've heard that too, the part about the bulbs burning out after a while, but I said "hey they're only $30, so why not"

I havn't seen what the halogens with the blue overtops look like, but what kinda light do they give out? I just know mine are white and look mean coming down the road. icon_biggrin.gif

well before xenons were popular all you could grab were the blue halogens. they look exactly like the HIDs and xenons. you really cant tell a difference. granted, we did the swap for my brother on our birthday over 5 years ago. (alittle ahead of the trends) so then it was cool because it was just german cars and this POS grand am that had the blue bulbs. i am really digging the green that i saw on a 5-series once. but i will probibly just go cheap and hit up the blues if i do anything.

I ordered in some of those lights (not the exact ones but some other similar kind) tonight from my local autoparts store. They do not have the blue running lights but do have the replacement style bulbs. Anyways, I'll have them tomorrow morning and will have them installed by that night.

I accutally only got these because I was driving around tonight and one of the headlights on my car burnt out!! So I figured that now was a good time to replace them. I'll do a update tomorrow when I get them installed.

i'm kinda hesitant to buy anything from autozone right now because they were trying to argue with me that i didn't "need" gaskets for my cataylic converter and there wasn't any made for my car.....LOL I'll have to take a look at what they have though.... I also need to get rid of my stock fog lights..... not to choose fashion over function, but they don't really make a difference and they're too old school looking.

places like pep boys, and autozone crack me up sometimes. I went in to autozone to try and find some new lights (before i found procarparts.com), and this lady rushed to me, and acting all dorky told me about every single headlamp they had. I was like, ummm yeah uh huh, i know, uh huh yeah , i know that too, thanks. And pepboys, holy crap, their service sucks!! or at least the one near me does. I asked about 3 people about a price, and no one knew. total crap. anyway, thats my autozone and pepboys stories, I now try to stay away from them except for wiper blades, fluids and stock light bulbs. icon_biggrin.gif

Don't even think about trying to get wiring harnesses there... icon_evil.gif I found this out 2 weeks ago when I went to get a stereo harness for my other car. They at first had no idea what I was talkin about, then I got a guy I had dealt with a few other times to try and help me. He goes "yeah we have it, but we'll have to order that one man." I said I wanted to install the radio tonight, I guess I'll hardwire it icon_cry.gif . He said well, it will be an enormous PITA in that car without the harness, try wal-mart. They have the same brands as us and prolly have it in stock. So he gave me the #'s and off I went. When I got to wally world, they said "we don't carry harnesses, just adapters. And besides, we don't have one for anything before 87." Arrrrrr...... so I had to go out of town the next day (hattiesburg), and went to the autozone there to see if they had one in stock. Walked up to the counter line, there was about 6 people in line and one person behind the counter. So when I finally got to the counter I asked for the part, and he said "We don't carry that here". I said yes you do!! I tried the autozone in laurel and they could order it, so you can too! Moron! He goes "umm (scratching his head) I don't see it on the screen". So I pointed it out to him on his computer screen and he is like "Oooooh ok. We don't have it in stock though. It'll take 3 days to get in and cost $30." So I was pretty mad at this point... but went back to the autozone in my neighbor hood (laurel). I asked again, and was prepared to have to wait for them to order it. By now I didn't care, I just wanted it the only way it looked like I could get it. So I ask him and he does the same thing the last guy does! So I showed him on the screen how he can order it, then get this: He says "That is only for the O.E. radio, it won't work with aftermarket stereos." Good lord how stupid. I said I'm tired of you idiots, I'm going to the other place. They didn't take 5 minutes and said it'll be in monday. No info taken down, no arguements. So I came back monday and they said "Hey shaun your harness came in." Woohoo! I was on top of the world for the few seconds before I realized that it was the wrong one! I said let me see the harness for and 86, and it was the right one. Turned out they keep those in stock, always have. icon_mad.gif icon_eek.gif So all that crap for nothing.... sheesh. Sorry for the long story I just had to share it though...
