ye, i wanna see that beast running. Im talking with a guy online who did the successful CA20ET project already. Got a company in AZ to do everything, but still none the less, he beat me too it. Nothing beats doing it yoiurself though !! Said he was running 13.8's in the 1/4 with crappy reaction times and like 9psi. I hope to be putting out lower 13's with higher psi and better hp. We will see though.

HEll yea Sleepns12, that is one swap i was considering just because of the availibility of the KA, wicked job man, cant wait to see it run, you planning on doing any other work to it, or just leaving it stock?

now that i know all of the in's and out's of the s12...i might htink about doing all sorts of different swaps that i can get my hands on. Working on cars has become something i ahve really enjoyed doing and the s12 helped me do that. I really want to see you get that ka running too.

That's a cool swap! I have never seen it done in a S12, but I just swapped out my KA24e for a KA24DE about a month ago. The KA is an overlooked motor, and has huge power potential. On the dyno, a stock KA will put out 130hp at the wheels, and 155lbs of torque. The car's engine horsepower as claimed by Nissan is 140hp and 155lbs of torque. This is kind of a low ball claim, as many many people have dynoed KAs with 150-155 lbs of torque at the wheels. A 240 stock will run about a 15.7 in the quarter mile.
If you guys check on Fresh Alloy, there are numerous guys with turbo KAs running around 250hp at the wheels with stock engines.
Good reasons why the KA is a great motor...
-iron block
-closed deck block design
-forged factory rods
-factory oil squirters
-high port nice flowing head
-strong factory valve train
-2.4 liters!!!! (your civic is 1.6 liters, and my bottle of soda is 2.0? icon_lol.gif )
-easy to get and find

Well for the time being it is stock only mod actually done is exhaust, intake, and a 91 exhaust cam in a 95 motor. all I am waiting for is my flywheel, which better be comming in soon! Once thats in, I can piece together the tranny, and find out about the driveshaft, where I HOPE there will be no problems, as the trannys look like they are very similar in length..

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo
I just found out I gotta spend more money and redo MY WHOLE exhaust system. The KA header is like 3" too short!!! its so close u just wanna bang yer head against the ground! Hopefully no more then a week I should have the car running....

you're gonnna have to get a custom drive shaft made. the ca tranny is 4 inches shorter, so this will not work, almost any driveshaft shop should be able to do this for you.
A one peice would be preferable.
The KA is a nice motor, but beyond exuaust air filter, afc, and maybe nitrous, I wouldnt go anyfurther, with the work/money you put in beyond that, the payout on an sr would be greater, plus you're more than half the way there because you've already adapted the chassis for this motor, you could now look at a standard sr swap guide and go from there.
www.heavythrottle.com is correct, for swaping the red top into the s13. which is identical to what you would be doing.
john.
