GO BEN D!!!! best 1/4 mile S12 in the world. After we thought his best run was a 9.69, he pummels it with a 9.38 @149mph. Way to go BEN!!!

Who is the driver?  Not you i presume.
Lots of understeer there, they have to learn to get the car sideways pre-apex, suspension looks softish but even so the lack of any initiation at all is what is letting them down, even in a much better setup car all they would achieve by driving like that is power oversteer, they would still understeer through the corners (possibly much worse with stiffer suspension).

lol...moved up to an S13..that won't help much.

looks like to me that all those drivers were too...delicate with the s12.

a good clutch kick can get the rear end out, and that "professional" didn't even try to feint it.  I saw no attempt at any real weight transfer from any of the drivers.  Looked just like they were tryign to go fast, turn and hope the rear end would come out and then get on the throttle.

That's weak...

Neb, you need to post up your videos all over myspace google video heh.

That first one was dissapointing... I've slid around more on an auto-x course, and have DEFINATLY seen Miatas and S2000's "drift" much better on an auto-x course.  At least the kid's getting involved in legal track days.

yeah it wasnt me in either vid, but in the second one i wish it was. lol.  but yeah, in the first one the guy didnt have very good technique at all. and what really kind of upset me was how they were baggin on the s12 the whole time, i cant wait till their friend gets out on the course with the s13 and dosnt do any better, i mean my car was an automatic and i still drifted the hell out of it lol.

I'm not drifter but jesus that guy was awful in that first video. Thats so classic, blame the car and "move up" to a better (aka easier) car to drift.

I think that first vid that guy is a member on here, it seems like I remember that car.

I'm to lazy, i just put them up in my photobucket hehe.
And yes those drivers were crap drifters, you can't drift anything doing what they were doing.
I drifted my mates near stock R31 once and even though it was pretty stocky it was easy enough to get sideways (and much faster then that S12 was going to), just have to get the weight to shift and even an underpowered car will drift nicely (with a runup hehe).
For those not in the know the oz-spec R31 has a live axle, mac struts and soft suspension, like an oversized S12 hehe.  More power then an S12 (RB30E engine) but more weight to (1450kg i think).
And on that note it gives me an excuse to show those vids :P

Unless you have something worthwhile to contribute to bump a 6-year old thread, no.
