the motor color and the way the headers flow reminds me a of a ferrari engine.

yea, that pic is hot. i wonder what the clearances are like under the hood. ie, stearing linkage to the rack and firewall

wow, ive never heard of this engine but i just DID blow a wad in my pants...

falkhenOct 21, 2007, 5:45 am · #8

well this guy goes into enough detail that should make it easier for one of use to do S12. I know there is allready a memeber doing it, but its taking to long...and he didn't do cadillac cts brake swap and WTF with the Evo 8 rotors??

VG30_S12Oct 21, 2007, 11:44 am · #9

just cheap and comon parts from the jy... sweatingbullets.gif

looks hard... not for the quieezy and feint of heart...
It would be like a VG30DE with 1.5L more displacement and two more cylinders. my only thought is that everyone complains at how heavy the VG is, whats that going to be like? my guess is about 250-270hp right?
still, Id love to see it mounted in the bay of an S12

What did this engine come in?

it looks like someone welded two 18dets together!

pretty sure the vh45 is a larger brother of the ve30de found in the maximas, much like the rb25det and ca18det

the vg family of engines is probably the oddball having a bunch of variations rather than sibling series

falkhenOct 28, 2007, 4:23 am · #14

Ive seen this S14 in person and its awesome, there have been 2 other VH45 swaps here in FL. They are always insane the way this engine sounds is like nothing else ive heard its just sick. He drifts this thing at south Florida events.

But the VH is no related to any other Nissan engine in terms of design

It is an All aluminum block and is very light for a V8. It has the most stout bottom end Ive ever seen, Factory Forged Pistons, forged rods, forged crank, 6 bolt mains, with a full main bearing girdle that ties in with the skirt.

OMG! shock.gif And all that built just to put out like 250-300hp? Thats amazing, are these things used for racing anywhere? I've pretty much never heard of an engine coming out of the factory built that strong... or 6 bolt mains for that matter...

OMG this is what people need to do. Not sr's,or Rb's,or Ca's or turbo motors in general. Just a giant Nissan V-8 N/A motor. Pimp shit.

Ive been saying that for a while but ohh well nobody listens to paul
