I have to agree with DerMetzger.  I prefer the Bride seats... and I have them. LOL  I also prefer the GReddy 15oz counter-weight shift knob.  It's also nice... I love it and find it a lot better than the stock one.

Sparco is the most trusted name in motorsports as far as seats/suits.

NON RACE CAR FAV's

Looks the same, but this one is 500 per seat, and is made of a hard resin. 35lbs versus the real racing seats 15lbs.

NO adjustable/ reclineable "Racing" seat is worth it. Somthing as important as a seat needs to be tailored like a suit to fit your needs and keep your neck from snapping.

Screwdriver shift knob revolution.

I've seen a stubby screwdriver handle on an ignition key before.

what kind of seats fit in our cars? I've never fucked with seats in a car before but I wanna get some new seats so yeah..

DraconisOct 31, 2008, 5:00 pm · #17

No real aftermarket seats will just fit in our cars.  You will need an adapter plate made up or make one yourself.  That's what I did for my Brides.

It's been shown that a stock S13 and one or two other seats from other stock cars fit in the S12 with some minimal mods.

Shift knobs:
I call it the "wrecking-ball". Billet stainless, machined finish. What's also nice about his knobs is that they're threaded all the way to the bottom, so you can keep your stock Mark I accordian shift boot, even with a short-throw shifter like mine (which has a shorter shift arm).

I have that same shift knob! I bought it from motorsports....i liked it a lot, and it was one of the cheaper ones so it was win win baby! I have a metal blitz shift know in my rx7 that I really like...except for on hot days when it tries to burn my hand...

I also love the bride seats...they are very very nice. Only seat I can think of that comes close would be corbeau seats...my step dad has a set in one of his rx7s...they are really nice as well.

It looks tho like it would make for uncomfortable and slow shifts lol.

ArroNov 1, 2008, 7:57 pm · #25

Yeah, really a round knob is the best for comfortable shifts... I notice most racecars have round or rounded-off cylindrical knobs. But for a street car to cruise around it, it's cool

I'd like to know the thread of your knob, is it 10X1,25?
I appreciate.

Does it existe a rubber/plastic/duracon/delrin knob for better grip? I don't like the metal ones because of the heat.

fyneyoungstunnaMay 26, 2009, 3:47 pm · #33

i was looking for pink racing seats for awhile but gave up when i couldnt find any. now its on to green seats.

i have this idea of a wooden shift knob, if youve ever seen those stone carvings of stuff like the elephants that have been hollowed out but have miniatures carved into it. i would love to do a shift knob like that.

Blutonka22May 27, 2009, 1:58 am · #34

Don't have a pic but, I used to have a stock MR2 MK1 shift knob in my Toyota 4X4 and it was nice.  I like the Nismo ones also.

Too bad I have an Auto right now

As for seats, my buddy has Sparco Torino 2's in his 240Z and they look really nice.  I also gotta agree with DerMetzger and Draconis, Brides are the $hit.

mr200tMay 28, 2009, 4:55 pm · #38

this is my hand made shifter. i used yellow brass and buffed it till it looked like gold. its 14oz. i engraved the shift pattern into with roman numerals designated to a corresponding gear.(I,II,III,IV,V-then i just used R)its a one piece sand-casted. i used a hi-lo lever as the mold.

as for a seat depends on the weather. i like bride, omp, sparco, recaro, but mostly i want to get a non-reclinable for the driver and a reclinable in the passenger side.

I like Corbeau, from what i have read there good seats at really affordable prices. I like this one in particular. posted image
