My name is Josh, from Charlotte, NC. I drive a 92 240sx. I'm a welder/fabricator by trade. I'm a mechanic/body man in my spare time. I'm married, have a beautiful wife, no kids---yet. I can build strut bars, c- pillar bars, triangulation bars, power braces, shift knobs and other random stuff. I can also port and polish heads. I'm trying to get into the aftermarket scene of the S12 because I know it doesn't have a very big product line. Here's some bars I've made for S13's

hmmmm, machine/welder... we might have to do some talking
got a number to reach ya?
i sent my #- what kind of stuff are you looking at doing?
Welcome to the club...I look forward to more s-12 products (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Welcome to the forum (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
The best thing to do is tell us how much things typically cost. For example, your shift knobs look professional quality, which is great... but I see knobs like that in stores all the time, so are you going to be lower in price than the off-the-shelf ones? If so, I'm already interested in one of those (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
We got a guy makin' crazy slick , tank-strong strut bars for the front already... someone tried to make one years ago and it didn't hold a candle to that. You wanna make something we don't have? Honestly? Make us some aftermarket seat brackets, or some nice catchcans, or rollcage sections you can ship us so we can have them welded up at a local shop. That last one would be the coolest.
Our biggest problem with the rear of the car isn't stability, it's actually camber. And also, lots of guys run wheels with improper offsets and want/need spacers, so machined spacers are something that some of them want (even though I wouldn't use a spacer). So I'm sure people would want those if you made them in a couple different thicknesses.
Yeah, we don't have a big aftermarket, but we do have some... and another guy tooling goods for us never hurts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
all of my shift knobs are $50. they aren't typical knobs, they are extremely weighted which makes them shift SOOO smooth and makes your shifts more confident. the bars i built for the back of 240's are $180 for a set of 3, as soon as i get a s12 to build bars to i will be able to sell them for it also.
I have seen the shift knobs and they are way cool and he can tap them so they fit on with out the set screws. Set screws suck! I think it is $50 well spent. I hope to get one soon.
Well yeah that's pretty awesome that they screw on without set screws, so count me in as soon as I get my car back on the road. Are those the only styles?
Hey Josh... here's my suggestion: Take pics of everything you have available for an S12 *as of now*, and post them in the Product Advertisements Section:
http://www.club-s12.org/forums/index.php?showforum=39
Don't advertise things you don't have yet developed for an S12... add those to your thread (or a new thread) as you bring them online. Prices and pictures of things are good... If you make more than just the 4 shift knob styles, I think I speak for everyone that we'd really like to see all the styles you're offering up for sale. Also, do you have a clearer pic than the one here?
I think some clear pics of all the knob styles you can sell us is what I personally am requesting, and I'm probably going to want to buy one.
i dont have a clear pic of the short one with holes in it but here are the rest of them. i'm not sure if the thread patern on a s13 and s12 are the same, these particular ones are for a s13 thread patern

i wasnt saying i have them up and ready for sale, i said "i can build", and i wasnt even being car specific, if somebody wants me to custom fab something for a random car i can do it, i just need access the car or one like it.
welcome aboard dude!

just outta curiosity how much did you pay? if you dont mind me asking
Hey dude! Man, you and dave both on here?
Hey, I can bring the S12 back down to the shop soon so you can finish the strutbar.
I might have Brian drive it over this weekend. I have been CRAZY busy this month (got a wedding this weekend)

His shiftknobs have an OEM style screw-in fit. He can also make one exactly to your specifications. People even send him exotic metals to make knobs from.
He's not really competing with off-the-shelf products.

S13 and S12 I think have different threaded ends on the shifter. Well like I said above, if it does thread directly on, I'll want one for sure. My suggestion is to get a shifter out of an S12 from a junkyard (or maybe someone on here can donate one for a discounted knob...?)
Finding an S12'er in NC shouldn't be too hard, I think there are a few of them online here.
Those pictures are much nicer, and yes, like I said if you can get one threaded to the S12 shifter, count me in for one for sure, as soon as you post us prices.
welcome aboard!

i can use that strut bar of yours to make a patern or i could just cut and re-weld it to fit the s12- if that makes any sense.

when sean's s12 gets here i'll check the thread patern/pitch on his shifter and see if i can find a tap for it.
the thread on the mk2 87 ca20e power s12 with the c style transmision is the same as the 93 240sx c sytle transmission, its also the same as my 94 d21 truck cause the plastic knob from there is the one i'm useing for now. also i took the shifter plates all apart and put them back together with the 240 shifter in the s12 shifter plate, just popped the clip out and they switched like it was ment to be, not quite a 'short shifter' but not the long stock length ither. maybe the s12 b style transmission has a diffrent thread, i dont have that shifter it self anymore just the ugly knob that was on it in my 84 but it seams to thread on to my three c style shifters, so it seems to me that there is no diffrence
nice lookin metal knobs though, and welcome to the club
hey i know they want theirs threaded but the guy i bought my car from cut it down so would you be able to make it using those 3 lil allen key screws? ill get you the diameter of what it needs to fit over
Unless people want to pay $80 a piece, I can't make anymore. The price of stainless has jumped dramaticly in the past year and keeps going up. I can still make them, but I doubt anybody will pay that kind of money just for a knob.

You can paypal my wife, her email is...
[email removed]
your wife has 69 in her address??? you sir are one lucky man! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
are these knobs just for nissan? do you make any to fit toyota's?
I would guess if you gave Josh the thread pitch of the shifter in question he could do it, but like he said, materials jumped up in price. Fucking bullshit American economy. Everything goes up in price.. units decrease in size/quantity, and the price rises.
Still, these are pretty cool knobs, maybe you guys could convince him to do a group buy and he could do a bunch of different styles in the same batch.
All I know is I'm very happy with mine, possibly the knob I like best out of all that I've had.
If you get me the thread patern and a fairly close-up pic of the top 4" of the shifter I can probobly make one to fit your car perfect. I can still make most of the shift knobs for $60 shipped for any member of club-s12. The balls are the only ones that I will not be able to do anymore

How about the nismo gt style? Can you still make that, and did you ever get pics of one installed? Thanks!
yeah I must admit, the Nismo GT style one was my second choice. Still very happy with this ball one... his machine work is very precise, and word up on the stainless, it's not heavy at all.
I'm still working on that one, I ran into a few troubles while tapping it.
If I gave you measurements for a Stereo Mounting Bracket, could you make them? I took the measurments from the one I bought from Crutchfield and J-Man and a couple other members need them..
I don't think I'm good enough on our break to make them efficiently.
Hey, Arro, what kind of seats do you have in your S12?
I have what I just discovered is a Starion/Conquest seat. The more I ride in it, the more I like the seat... the wings are nice, and hold you in good, and the sitting position is just fine. Someone rigged up a junky adapter to the S12 floorpan, and it uses a stack or large washers on the rear outer bolt point. It works, it's solid, but I'd prefer a better setup. Not to mention I need to find a Starion passenger seat to match it now.
Why do you ask?
Edit: took some pics...

It looks like it would be alot better than the stock seats.

yeah I really hope Josh gets back into things, he's actually an active member of Carolina Nissans, so go there and hit him up, tell him people are still asking about him on Club-S12. I'm tellin' you, this knob I bought from him is da shiznit.
