I thought it was FJ20ET, no?
sam31183Nov 4, 2008, 7:08 pm · #8

nope, lz20bt...it makes the fj look weak...which is no easy feat. Keep in mind that that this engine is even more rare and even more expensive then the fj.

NitroNov 4, 2008, 7:33 pm · #9

Wow. I thought that the L-series was inline-6, like the RB...the S110 silvia had Z20 I believe... What is lz20b?

sam31183Nov 4, 2008, 7:56 pm · #10

well there is also the l20, the l18, and the l16 from the 510s. The LZ20B is like a really buff race engine that i think came before the fj...i dont know to incredibly much about it, but i am sure there is some info on google, or someone else on the site knows more about it then me.

LZ info

Here's a page with a bunch of info on the LZ engines.

"Tomica/GTR works Skyline R30 car driven by Hiro. In this vehicle the LZ engine produced 570PS at 8000 rpm in the "Car that makes long flames " This was the works car prior to the iron mask FJ20T vehicles"

freaking sweet... too bad its so hard to find race preped vids of s12's causei know thers hords of them in japan and aussy

TurboNotchNov 6, 2008, 11:26 pm · #21

slightly off topic, but still awsome, what was the engine that was a mix of L series and Z series? like and L head on a Z block or something of that sort.

ArroNov 7, 2008, 12:40 am · #22

LOL that's called a KA24E (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Seriously.

TurboNotchNov 14, 2008, 1:52 am · #23

no it came befor the ka. datsun guys use to race with them.

ArroNov 14, 2008, 3:20 am · #24

Actually I was being sarcastic, because the KA24E is a modified Z22E bottom end,and a modified version of the L20 head. It's the direct descendant of the Z and L series engines.

Go look it up at datrats.com or whatever, where they have all the historical info on all three engine series.
