From left to right: SR20DET T25G, CA18DET T25, CA18ET T2

I had all three sittin there so I figured I'd take a couple comparison pics.

The T25G has the largest wheels and housings of course. The T2 is the smallest, much smaller than the T25G. The CA18DET's T25 is interesting in that the compressor wheel is only slightly larger than the T2 and the turbine wheel is only slightly smaller than the T25G.

SR20DET T25G specs:
XD 1491J
14411-50F00
466113-2
IN A/R .80
EX A/R .64

CA18DET T25 specs:
UC 0109J
14411-36F12
465767-4
IN A/R .48
EX A/R .49

CA18ET T2 specs: (stamping was really light so I'm not 100% here)
PA 0186P
14411-17F05
466370-6
IN A/R .48
EX A/R .63

Sorry no wheel diam specs for any of these.

Funny thing about the T25G I got is it has the slip on compressor inlet like the other 2 turbos seen here instead of the 2 bolt flange like every other T25G I've seen. At first I thought it was the wrong turbo and I got stiffed again but its right. Anyone have any insight on this odd turbo?

haha I thought you junked that t2 when I left it at your house after the swap t2 is sooooo cute lol

ive posted this in my project thread, but ill throw it up here too. T25 (ca18det) vs a RB20DET turbo.... which i believe is a T3/T4 compression section and a T28 turbine section (correct me if im wrong)

I'll give ya 10 bux for that T2 only cause it's so cute lol

Julie are the inlet flanges the same size?

JulieAug 16, 2008, 6:30 am · #6

no, the T25 uses a smaller flange w/ a different bolt pattern. in order to adapt the larger turbo to my DET's manifold, ill need to make a adapter plate, which i found plans for on google. the exhaust side elbow pattern is different as well, so ill need to have that bit custom made or harass draconis into finding me one since he sold me the turbo

Then that turbo on the right is a T3, which I believe is stock for an RB20.

T28 looks different.

hey julie what did you do with the t25 you had?

JulieAug 16, 2008, 12:59 pm · #9

left it on the floor to collect dust till i find someone who wants it

ArroAug 16, 2008, 6:39 pm · #10

Just sell it on here. Someone will buy it, probably a CA18ET guy who wants something better than T2, or even a CA20E guy who's converting and can't go very high in boost anyways.

already tried a few times

oooo thats a good idea. kinda wish i still had my ca20e. ok not really lol

Any idea how much hp that rb turbo is typically good for?
JulieAug 17, 2008, 3:10 am · #14

draconis told me it will have no problems getting over 300hp on the DET, so it might be good for more then that. i wanna say 330hp max, but dont quote me on it

DraconisAug 17, 2008, 4:10 am · #15

I know you can push the RB20 turbo to easily 1 bar or 14psi. I wouldnt go above 12psi personally for it loses it's reliability. I also know it can do 250rwhp so that is about 312.5 at the crank. But I would not push it any further than 300 imo. Even then, it also depends on how your motor is setup and such.
