i had an extra intake mani..so me and my dad decided to make a custom intake manifold..we cut the flange off the extra manifold i had and i opened up the ports a lil bit to match the runners..we made the volocity stacks our self..for the sides we bend some 3 inch aluminum and cut it straight down the middle..and on the top and bottom we cut some flat aluminum out and welded it all up..we still gotta put some vacuum ports on it and the make a throttle body flange then it will be ready to put on

Custom Intake Manifold
Damn.............looks pretty sweet
Holy shit that looks hot as hell. What a perfect use of a used aluminum intake pipe!
All thanks to french fries tongue.gif
wow man great craftmanship... should make a very nie improvement in the higher rpm range
Damn thats bad a$$ dude, congrates on the fab job.
thanks guys..if we finish it tomarrow ill post some pics of it in the car
HOLY PLENUM VOLUME! Very nice. IMO might want to flow test each runner.
Was expecting peeps to go off on him for designing blind like that. Thats what happens on NICO lol
As for me I say fugg it and have fun!
thats teh sex.
what are your plans for injector fittings?

i dont understand what u mean..the injectors are gonna fit the same as they do stock..
yeah, I'd be a little worried about running lean on one of the cylinders, but after its up and running, keep checking your plugs to make sure that everything is looking OK. The only other way to do it would be an air/fuel gauge for each exhaust runner, spendy, but more exact by far. you don't want to lose a cylinder!
The other thing I must mention,.. are you planning on having the surface where the intake mani bolts to the head (the part that still has some gasket material on it) cut down flat by a machinist? I'm wondering how much that may have warped with the heat, and whether you'll have sealing issues. it may or may not be obvious initially,.. dunno.
I've welded with aluminum for some time now, so I've got some experience with that sort of thing, but have held off doing my own intake mani for those reasons. Shit is looking awesome tho, good job man!
With as thick as the flange is, I wouldn't worry about warping too much. Just try to keep the heat out as much as possible.
Then again, tossing it up on a Bridgeport wouldn't be hard to do either. laugh.gif
im gonna put the flange part on the belt sander to get all the left over gasket off..and that should take out any warping that might have happen..but like seishuku said..that flange is pretty think so i dont think that is a problem
Looks great man cant wait to see that thing in person
thanks man..yea we have to put another meet together..hopefully with somemore people lol
we can have a stitch welding party at my house in High Point once I get the car stripped and cleaned

done!..i still have to make a throttle body gasket then ill see how shes running

thanks man
woow that thing is sweeeet man..
