sweet looking good the flat black doesn't look bad at all I never really liked the sky blue but meh it's my opinion keep it coming where you gettin you 18et swap from?

EightySix200SXOct 18, 2008, 3:17 pm · #7

from a local guy of mine that swapped in a s14 sr20det in his s12. older guy. he said hell sell me the whole setup for 250 so. i cant pass that up. im gonna build the motor before the swap go through it all. get the block hot tanked and re-honed and resealed up. as for the head port work and valve job. etc. there is a pretty decent machine shop here where i work in signal hill. that did my buddys ka24det block and head. one benifit will be me working at nissan. all the seals i need will be ordered as for gaskets im going cometic metal gaskets but the rest will be oem nissan

u know after i sprayed it black i was thinkin when the time comes for paint i might have it proffesionaly sprayed satin black like the tahoe from rob and big.

Rick WagonerOct 18, 2008, 5:54 pm · #8

Thank you for the measurement of the decal.  I have got to get the 200sx decal for my notch.  Did you find those somewhere or was that the original.  I know the Silvia one is from this club isn't it?  GREAT CAR!

it looks like a later silvia hood emblem
DraconisOct 19, 2008, 11:49 am · #15

I was thinking that... like the Queens.

David BOct 19, 2008, 11:52 am · #16

IMO id leave it flat black. its so hot

or get it painted the OEM copper color

EightySix200SXOct 20, 2008, 4:57 pm · #17

hood badge is a s14 red s badge. thanks for the comments guys appreciate it. im most likey shooting for 180-200whp thats all i guess. i just want a fuin boosted daily driver and something i can run up at the canyons with.

sideways_s12Oct 20, 2008, 11:05 pm · #18

yeah 200hp will be real simple to get out of the car let me know if you need any help via the forums or pm's I'll be more than willing to help out as much as I can

ArroOct 21, 2008, 2:26 am · #19

CA18ET or DET?

CA18ET can be taken to 200hp... Bart did more than that. Intercooler, T25, Jim Wolfe Tech. makes a 420cc injector for the VG30e that can be adapted to your stock fuel rail, SR20 or KA24DE MAF, Apex'i Super-AFC, manual boost controller, 255lph Walbro fuel pump, Aeromotive or NISMO adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/
http://enjukuracing.com/aeromotive-fuel-pr....html?cPath=203
http://www.optionimports.com/niadfprtyu.html

That will take you to 250-275hp, but you pretty much need that to get to 200, too. Some people might say you can do it with just a boost controller or a couple other things, but it's not safe and you run the risk of blowing the engine up, regardless of other people's unique experiences.

sideways_s12Oct 21, 2008, 4:53 am · #20

but yeah it'll be easy to get to 200hp

WHOO!  KEEP THE NOTCHS ALIVE!  Everyone seems to like the hatch more...but this is a beautiful example.  Wheres Gardena anyway?

EightySix200SXOct 21, 2008, 9:55 am · #22

GARDENA is by carson ca north of long beach but south of south l.a.. if that helps lol thanks for the links arro can yer the motor is going to be a ca18et. ill get on those pictures right away sir. lol sidewayss12 thanks for your help also.

sideways_s12Oct 21, 2008, 3:58 pm · #23

not a problem

cls12vg30Oct 21, 2008, 5:25 pm · #24

Great looking notch!  Even for hatch-heads like me that is great-looking.  Good job on the rattle-can, it's enough to make me believe I can cover up the sunburn on my roof and hood without a full respray...maybe not, we'll see.  But I do agree that, until you can and want to afford a really great paintjob, your current flat coat is just fine.  It's much better than a lot of S12's out there (like mine) still suffering with their original paint.

Overall a very nice-looking car.

EightySix200SXmy car is auto so im gonna use the "iggyeguana method". by modifing a "shelf bracket" onto my auto crossmember to hold the tranny. damn auto/manual s12 body differences!!!! lol. im might end up keeping the b trans its not that bad is it???

B trans... meh. C trans is much stronger. Plus you get to use all the cool and cheaply priced S13 short throw shifters from E-gay. Plus it makes swapping to a KA or SR later a cinch.

my buddy taking his manifolds and etc to put on his ka24det build

What, the CA20 manifold? On a KA? Or did I understand that right
EightySix200SXNov 7, 2008, 1:17 pm · #35

no. he's building his ka-t my motor just happens to be in the second pic. hes running all ka stuffs

EightySix200SXNov 7, 2008, 5:51 pm · #36

OK MOVING ALONG FAST. after removing valve cover the head is in superb shape i mean immaculate ill eat dinner off the bit*h. lol anyway were skipping a few steps. were gonna go ahead and reseal i.e new gaskets which i ordered today new cap rotor distibutor harness. i also purchased a t25g with performance dumpipe for 100 bucks i picked up an intercooler for 60 bucks. piping we gotta map out...... i wanna get this thing in lol. after looking it over the only leaking gasket isthe oil pan which we had in stock lmao!!! yes instock at nissan for a 21 year old motor..... going to the yard to pick up ca20e manifold and shifter rod misc items. the motor should be all sealed and cleaned in the next few weeks as i have little time to work on it (my lunch break and after work when the tech keeps his bay open pics comin soon..... oh prolly gonna do a head gasket cometic metal one jus for shits and giggles...
