I was curious. Did some quick searching, but i thought i'd start a thread after not realy finding what i was looking for.

What i was wondering basicaly, what are some of the highest horsepower/torque S12s runnin around out there?

I was hopng everyone could post up their stats, Dyno'd or best realistic, educated guess/estimate. I havent realy seen any high numbers out there, and basicaly, it would give me somethign to aim for.. hehehe...

It doesnt matter what kinda of engine you have in or whatever, basicaly, if its an s12 shell, I know what its doin. Even projected ones that are still in project stages, but just try and keep things realistic, and close to real within 25-50ish hp would be nice...

anyways, dont be shy. or if ya know of someone elses, just plunk down an HP number and what engine they're runnin and any other things you may know about it!

If you do a rebuild, or swap, or dyno it, please come back and correct, or add it to your original car, its nice to see how certain things change things as well!

at any rate, i was thinkin something like this:

Year:
Body: (Hatch or notch)
HP/Torque:
Estimated or known rev limit:
0-60, 0-100, top speeds if avail
Engine:
Engine managment:
Gearing:
General engine mods: (doesnt need to be overly specific, just a generalization, the stuff that gets the air and fuel in and out better, and controls that process.. lol)

Other stuff:

Cost of build/aquisition: (Actual or close estimate

Heres mine for example:

Year: 1986 (mk1)
Body:Hatch
HP/Torque: HP 80-100/Torque NA (Estimated)
Rev limit: Estimated redline aprox 6000 (Stock, and redline on factory gauges)
Top speed: about 150-160km/hr is high as i've taken it.
Engine: Stock Nissan/Datsun Ca20e
Engine managment: Stock/factory ECU and components
Gearing: Stock 5spd tranny and rear end (- 4:11 I think)
General engine mods: EGR delete (If that even counts lmao)
Other stuff: Newer shocks, AC-Delco alternator, batt relocate, slight wieght romoval, stereo etc 2.25 exhaust with magnaflow/2.5 straight thro with 9inch bottle. (I switch depending where im goin)

Cost of build/aquisition: Car:$100, parts to keep it runnin: 4-500 ish?

anyways, dont be shy. or if ya know of someone elses, just plunk down an HP number and what engine they're runnin and any other things you may know about it! (As long as they'll be okay with you doining it.. i dont think most people would mind though.)

Do a search for Ben Diggles or Ben D. He is an Aussie who holds the record for the fastest S12 in history to date. 8.XX seconds quarter mile with a turboed FJ.

Eh, what the hell...

Year: 1987.
Body: Hatch.
HP/Torque: Probably 240WHP/230Wtq.
Estimated or known rev limit: 7100 (ECU is set to that, engine is good to 7800).
0-60, 0-100, top speeds if avail: Donno, I've had it to 125MPH before, tires aren't good for much past that.
Engine: SR20DE+T.
Engine managment: Stock/Chipped.
Gearing: Stock XE S12 gearbox/diff.
General engine mods: 10:1 CR SR20DE with DET turbo hardware, T25G running 11PSI+, Aggressive timing, water+alcohol injection, Bosch 043 fuel pump, Deatschwerks 450CC injectors.

I'll have it on the dyno hopefully when we get our tax return.

maybe t28 and bigger injectors at tax return time!

fuck hp and torque ne way.its who drives it.

sideways_s12Jan 26, 2009, 5:06 am · #9

Year: 1986
Body: Hatch
HP/Torque: unknown lol
Estimated or known rev limit: pulls all the way to 6200
0-60, 0-100, top speeds if avail unknown
Engine: Ca18et
Engine managment: Afc
Gearing: unknown
General engine mods: CAI, three inch exhaust from turbo back, T25g on 15psi, pov removal, Dsm 450cc injectors, stock everything else lol pulls pretty damn hard

Cost of build/aquisition: Car=$800 Total mods=$400 so I'm into it for 1200 until after tax time then I'll be in in it for a bit more hp goals are 400hp on stock block most of the forum are non-believers but all doubt will be removed when I get dyno slips up...

nismologistJan 26, 2009, 6:21 am · #10

no doubt you can pull 400 horseys out of it.but reliably..i doubt it.not on a stock block my friend.

Well, the 100hp is just the tip of what he can do. And he has made is car far more able in just about every aspect than yours as in built from the ground in in some ways. Not that hard to get an additional 50 or 75hp easy out of it without much more effort.

id love to see boy jump 5 feet in the air and survive.i know i have.haha regardless of the shit ppl talk,i know what im capable of and what my car is ready for.so go ahead and yap away.it makes no difference to me.because if any of you ever have the testicular fortitude to come and challenge me to a rally cross on my home turf you would get beaten so badly you would no joke,be literally crying for wasting your time, gas, money, and effort.

Year:1985
Body: Hatch with no wing or kit
HP/Torque: Idk really. I'm a bad judge of it. Somewhere over 200 for sure lol.
Estimated or known rev limit: 8000rpm
0-60, 0-100, top speeds if avail: IDK elapsed times. For top speed power to weight ratio wise it should be able to go over 140mph easily. Gear ratio wise probably more like 130. Aerodynamically its more like 120 lol. And with the old original suspension being unstable 110 is pushing lol.
Engine: JDM CA18DET
Engine managment: Stock ECU with AFC
Gearing: JDM CA18DET 5 speed trans with the car's original 4.10 geared R180 rearend.
General engine mods: 2 JDM exhaust cams on stock timing, T25G, tubular exhaust mani, 14psi, power steering deleted, AC deleted, all the other BS deleted lol
Other stuff: Fidanza 9lb flywheel, 6 puck unsprung clutch, 1 piece driveshaft, welded diff, chassis stripped down. Low option car to begin with i.e. no power options or stereo options or other electronic doo-dads.
Cost of build/aquisition: Car was free. About $3000 into it now. Havent even touched the suspension yet lol.

This thread is useless.. there is an entire section devoted to dyno slips and discussion of them. Please look there before you start new threads, as there are some heavy hitters.

Okay, you really should follow Andrew/Caraudiofoolery's advice. That is uncalled for no matter what situation. I can tell you, Dan/RB25sx has a lot more experience in many different ways that you are not even aware of. You dont know the capabilities of his car at full potential or of Dan as a driver.

Consider this a warning. Further unwarranted and inappropriate comments such as what you said above may result in further disciplinary action.
