st vincent got Euro spec cars.

Not suprising, as they would more than likely have gotten them from South America or Europe imported.  When I went to St Thomas a few years back (US Virgin islands, further north than the isle of St Vincent) I saw a Euro S13 there.  Most of the cars on the Caribbean isles are euro spec/european cars.

sks12 n iggy geuss xano answered your question im from st.vincent and the grenadines ah lil island in the caribbean between st.lucia and grenada. next to barbados...lol alwasy gets left out on those weather channel maps i see.

myth-s12 i those are the exact tie rods i bought.havent put them on the car yet so cant give u a definite yes that they would work.

xano not sure of the spec wether euro or jap..but i do believe it is very likely to be a jap spec as we import most our cars directly from japan.

Nice, glad to see someone else is crazy enough to run a turbo on the 10:1 compression engine!
Unless you plan on dumping them for lower CR, in which case you suck!  Just kidding.

You should check out my Garage, I think I left some useful info for turboing the SR20DE. If not, just ask!

hey matt remember me..i was the guy thinking that my engine might have bin the autec version sr turn out it was one exactly like yours but it came form an s15, year im gonna run it wid the 10:1 but on very low boost maybe 6-7 most for the time being n then get sum 9:1 pistons n forged rods....i prefer high compression low boost apps rather than low comp high boost

as to the ca18 vacum lines, lol its ah mess now....had put on ah ca20 manifold(had reason for doing this...lol long story)....think i regret it..but hey...it looked nice while it lasted lol

Oh yea, I remember now. Cool, cool.

Yeah, the 10:1 is nice, but I really gotta get some forged ones. With those cast ones, I'm afraid of breaking a ringland.

As long as I've been running my setup, it's still running very strong... I really think it's the water/alcohol injection that's keeping it healthy.

i cut the hole out for the shifter which went back further than i expected about 3.5 inches, this i cuz the engine is mounted very close to the firewall for sumwhat of a midship setup. def gonna have a problem wit reverse and the parking brake.

will post pics later

ArroOct 12, 2009, 11:11 pm · #26

I'd say 3.5" is about how far back mine is relocated, and I have no problems with the Ebrake. Hell, I use the stock center console relocated, too.

D-sport S12Oct 13, 2009, 12:05 am · #27

I have no problems with mine at all with my SR, infact it seems alot better position than the stock S12 location

tuhsty s-12Oct 13, 2009, 4:41 am · #28

u guys using short throw shifters?

JayOct 13, 2009, 5:06 am · #29
tuhsty s-12u guys using short throw shifters?

I am. Just like arro said. Just move the center console back a few inches.. works great
Navy_Mech2Oct 13, 2009, 5:43 am · #30

Arro and Jay, when you guys moved the consoles back to line up with the new hole in the tunnel, was there a gap at the front of the console by the radio or did you guys find another way to do it so there was no gap?

XanoOct 13, 2009, 5:52 am · #31

I'm sure theres a gap, but its not as big as you might think, because the center console goes under the center of the dash about an inch.

tuhsty s-12Oct 13, 2009, 5:38 pm · #32

heres my problem guys.

JayOct 13, 2009, 8:58 pm · #33

answer for both of your questions.

Short throw fixes that up no problem.

And yes, I do have a small gap in the front of my center console. can't really be avoided.

thanks for all the advise guys. and i wont mind using a s12 c box..if i cud have found one..there are possibly 4 s12's in my country... i own 2, one of the others is identical to my 84 turbo and the other is a later model with ca20 in it sure if its a mk1 or 11 as it has mk11 body trim but has the mk1 parklightit has irs soo i geuss its post 84
IggyEGuanaOct 14, 2009, 4:52 am · #36

short throw shifter fixed that problem for me

I think I would rather invest my money into a short throw shifter. Instead of doing that. It looks pretty ghetto I'm my opinion.
Nice build btw can't wait untill finish product.

tuhsty s-12Oct 15, 2009, 3:31 am · #39

think im gonna go with the short throw shifter but if it still doesn't clear after that im gonna look into modifying the emergency brake handle.

danginaOct 15, 2009, 3:43 pm · #40

great work so far! looking forward to seeing this car finish!

200sxkitcarOct 16, 2009, 5:57 am · #41

wow, I have an understanding of the rot repair you just did, congrats, it looks good.  alot of work for sure.

that is a Euro-spec car too btw, those are Euro lights.

looking forward to seeing this completed!

David BOct 16, 2009, 6:09 am · #42

dude, for reverse, it sucks. because it pops the reverse out of gear...

but since ka tranny shifters are worn, when you put it into reverse you can wiggle the shift knob to the side of the e brake and its fine
tuhsty s-12Sep 16, 2010, 11:41 pm · #43

arrite guys soo i havent updated in a while but here goes, i took the 240sx rear subframe down to fill the bushings,
have been searching for sum 240sx shock towers to finish the conversion for the longest while.. finally got them thanks to sterlin aka 200sxkitcarr.

here are  sum pics, they show where the subframe was modified to fit the s12 chassis.

Need write-up.

vegasS12Sep 29, 2010, 6:38 pm · #46

yes please a write up im still debating if i want to just swap out the rear arms to run z31 arms and have 5 lug. or was thinking about doing the s13 rear end and do conversion 5 lug hubs...
so all is needed to do it extend the front mounts a bit? then we can use the s13 multi link suspension setup and be able to adjust suspension?

pictures of it mounted please and thank you

DeezusSep 29, 2010, 7:57 pm · #47

You have to swap to s13 strut towers too

vegasS12Sep 29, 2010, 8:12 pm · #48

i wouldnt encourage you to do this unless u can get your car on  a rotiseere and flip it upside down... that would make life weeeeyy easier.

but here is a list of the mods i did

1: u have to build a flat mounting point over the cross beam that runs across the back of the car for each mount, the beam is the one just in front of the gass tank, the same one that one of the gass tank straps is bolted to... i removed the entire beam n replaced it with square tubing, if i had to do this agen i wouldnt replace the entire beam.. but jus build mounting points over the corners of it.

2: u need to massage a few areas, namely on the frame rail that runs from the front of the car to the back, u need to massage the area on the frame rail where the braket for the traction rod comes up off the subframe.

3: also where the loop of the subframe is to be ie. the end of the driveshaft tunnel needs to be massages as well.

4: after the subframe is centered and mounted in the rear u need to cut off the front mounts, bolt them to the existing mount location and weld in an extension.

5: build towers.

6: the obvious driveshaft work

RAWR! ill just lift my car up and hold it upsidedown.
