I need the length of the front shaft for a 5spd vg30e with the c transmission.  I am tired of looking for one in junkyards and forums so I decided to get one made.  I need to get moving on my 5spd swap haha.  Thank you!

are you swapping an se auto to manual? or are you doing something else? i can get the measurements, but more info would help.

I have just re read the pinned tranny articles and searched but can't find an answer to my question.

Apparently the FS5W71C used in the non turbo VG powered Z-31 has a larger diameter output spline than the 4 cyl. KA/CA/Z24i trannys. Does anyone know if the S-12 VG FS5W71C output spline is larger than the CA or KA transmission spline?

A friend is trying to use a Z-31 tranny but his driveshaft spline is too small. I'm not worried about tranny or driveshaft length, I'm wondering if all VG 5spds. have this larger spline.

Thanks in advance for being patient.

Well lets try something simpler. Has anyone measured the diameter of the spline on the front of the driveshaft on a VG 5spd? Is it the same diameter as the 4 cylinder?

Could you measure the outer diameter of the C tranny spline in the tail stock for me? OR can you tell me if the 4 cylinder drive shaft spline will fit the VG C type tranny that you have.
