OK
So recently, I was waiting for some parts and materials, oh and funds to pay for all of this. When I decided to make a bracket to hang my cheapo air-horns I had bought from Harbor Fraud.
This could also be called: "How to build a forty dollar bracket for a twenty dollar horn."
For starters, we need a simple form to use for laminating on. This form happens to be part of my headlight bucket project too.
I use freezer paper and spray tack to create a good non-stick release barrier.
Here is the area for cutting the carbon fiber, a rotary cutting tool and straight edge work great.
Good organization helps, this is my mixing station.
Sorry I flaked getting any pics of the actual laminating process, things move fast and gloves get sticky, not good for cameras. Here is the finished rough laminate shape.

getting a rough idea of where I want to put the horns.

Traced out the shape I wanted.
And finally, cut out shape, still needs some final sanding.
I will get a few more pics of the actual install tomorrow, do not know how I missed that. Extra material from this project will be used to mount the little compressor near the horns. I have found funding for parts, so other things are progressing again.
Peace, Wolf

Got Bored, So I Made A Horn Bracket...
Hahah those are the horns I was talking with you about yesterday You should take a vid of them honking and post it on Youtube so we can hear it
all I see are red x's lol
Strange... he's using photobucket, too. Can you see photobucket images or do you have a server that for some reason blocks 'em?
Pics show on mine.
I was wondering why it cost $40 to make a bracket. I was thinking I spit things like that out for pocket change all the time. I see now though.

The $40.00 wa just a number I pulled out of my ass. However, the cost of materials and labor to make the bracket were far more than the cost of the horns. Just kinda funny. But I rarely do anything based on costs, however, sometimes I should weigh the costs too.
Here are some shots mounted:

Is this one of those horns that plays the "Dukes of Hazard" tune?

SAAB 900s came with something like this but it was a fresh air cabin intake. Some people got in the habit of chopping that part of the hood out and using it for things like a cold air intake.
(left side, near windscreen)
Gratuitous use of said vent:
Im thinking of doing this with the vents from a Celica All-Trac/GT4

The factory OEM hood is four separate pieces, two of them each vent, I just used the carbon fibre one for the only closeup I could find
there we are! just waiting for a pair to pop up on ebay, the dealer wants too much for them and most dont have them in stock anymore
