I think there's a point here that was worth sharing. I've been sheepish about my screen name... my 12 is not electric, nor will it be before I drop another engine under the hood and blow that up. I don't know... I mean using pseudonyms is kinda ridiculous in the first place. We all have names that I'm sure we could use without worrying that our "identities will be stolen", and those that do worry can stick with "S12fan4eva". I really don't see how that's any less lame or hard to remember than someone's pretentious overthought screen name.

How about something-something-something-s12 written in binary.

How about we ALL change our screen names to binary and see how easy it is to tell them apart.

Ok so lemme weigh in a bit on this...

As was said, some of you guys have usernames on here that are really old.... and some of you don't mind, but others feel that the name needs changing.

Some of you have been granted a name change. And the reason for that is because a case has been made to me that I found compelling enough to justify the change.

Yeah, "S13minus1" is a cool name. But just because someone comes up with a "cool" name doesn't mean it's a good reason. Otherwise I'd open up precident for anyone to change names without good reason.

So here is what I'm going to offer:

If you have a COMPELLING reason for a name change, I will consider it. I may or may not change it.

Failing that,

I am going to offer a name change for a FEE. There are server costs associated with this forum, of which I have been steadily paying, and sometimes Colin (and recently Ben) have been paying. But there are indeed costs.

SO,

If you are dead-set on getting your name change, you can change it for the fee of $35 USD, and that change stays in effect for a minimum of 3 years.

And the change is also under review for anything unreasonable or excessive.

And yes, I'm serious -- if you don't have a good reason, you have to pay for it.

no, i think rinkya does a percentage isntead of a flat rate. you'd be doing yourself a favor to go to their website and read their FAQs. i haven't used the service myself but when this thread was posted and someone mentioned it, i went over and read about them. the company is legit and it seems like they're priced right.

Andrew, the Japanese dont do business that way.  You dont just send them money and they give you stuff the way we do.  You will need someone over there to do the work of translation and discussing with the owner of the item for you.  Their business culture is a lot different than that of what is done in the US, esp. when it comes to individuals outside Japan.  Large companies obviously are more of the Western format due to international business, but there are still distinct cultural differences.  I highly suggest Jesse if you dont want to go with Rinkya.  And if you want something, you need to be prepped to pay for it if it's coming directly from Japan unless you know someone personally in Japan who can do a bit of running around for you.
