For those of you who are not into the whole missing front marker lights/grill look, rest assured, as soon as my white LEDs show up in the mail my grill is going back on a long with my jdm clear corners....

Cool! Another notch that stoled a SE kit from a hatch!

sam31183Feb 14, 2010, 3:55 pm · #3

Draconis stole it...and i just bought it from him...but is it just me or do these look better on notches anyways? I cant wait to put my jdm clear corners on...my damned LEDs need to show up..

DOes make it look alot better all you need now is the rear mudflaps.
The only piece I'm missing is the front lip.

If I can get my hands on enough black rubber material i might try to make my own mudflaps and then put some silvia vinyls on the back of them. Car needs lower bad now though...lol.

vegasS12Feb 14, 2010, 6:52 pm · #6

That would be awsome.
I just bought the original silvia mudflaps today. I can't wait untill they come in.
I feel your pain on the suspension mines in need of a major upgrade to haha.

I have money stashed away right now for my hoshinos...and i should be getting cash here soon for tires and then hopefully some suspension to while i am at it. The car should also be seeing some paint next month...which is when i should be picking up my hoshinos...so expect to be seeing some of that in march. /\_/\

I am surprised no one has mentioned the adjusters between the bottom of the front bumper and the lip...that is one of my favorite parts of the kit install....

Haha I've noticed it. Now it's not a sagging SE lip its an ADJUSTABLE front wing!  good job!

I just use zip ties on mine to get the same effect
sam31183Feb 14, 2010, 8:08 pm · #10

it has zip ties as well...my brother was looking at it after we got the lip on the car and he said it was still sagging to much...he had the adjusters around from a lip project he had tried on the 86 that didnt work out quite well...but these adjusters work perfect for this purpose. This was actually the better of the 2 se lips draconis had...it is amazing how these things get after 25 years...but then again they are made out of pretty thin material.

Yeah the hoshinos will be a nice upgrade compared your steelies haha.

Did you install the SE side skirts over the top of the stone guarrds?

There are methods for straightening that SE lip of yours, PM Andrew (demonic S12) and ask him, he's come up with some highly effective ways.

Also, if I'm judging right from the pictures, paying a detailer to do a professional buff job on your car will surprise you with a brilliant shine. Makes that dullness that is typical of factory-original paint go bye bye.

kyskaterFeb 15, 2010, 12:08 pm · #13

i love my 84 300zx mudflaps... and if you want you can always take the flat part off of the rest of it and it looks like a rear valance

sam31183Feb 15, 2010, 1:38 pm · #14

the car is getting painted here soon so the dullness doesnt bother me to much...i am sure it would take a lot of buffing to get this thing to shine...it baked in the desert for who knows how long. I took everything off that I could...which was just the back molding on the rear fender wells. I kind of like the way the adjusters look on there so they are probably going to stay. If I wanted to I could easily fab something out of sheetmetal at home or at work to support the front lip better...but i like the look of the adjusters on the front...i know...kind of dumb, but whatevers. It is my car.

While it makes me sad to know that your kit means another SE that is no longer with us, it really works on the notch!

sam31183Feb 15, 2010, 2:44 pm · #16

/\ Thx! I think the kit really accents the roof/trunk line of the notch a great deal.

Well, you can think about it this way Chris, the SE was not sacrificed for the sake of the SE kit.  It was sacrificed long ago due to a natural death as cars go and the SE kit amongst other parts were saved.
