Pretty slick.

I saw this several years ago, it just came back around from someone I know who just spent the last few years on Pluto.

Sure would be cool to do on a 200SX...

itd be cool, but with s12's electrical problems, wed all be driving around with no doors because they all got stuck down

it looks really awesome, but how would it fare on s12's with slammed ride heights?

sideways_s12May 16, 2010, 11:40 pm · #5

it would be cool on a vip car depending on the car but I think on an s12 it would look stupid

That is a really great idea. Wonder when it will catch on? Knowing how long it takes for cars to go from drawing board to production... we've got quite some time.

Bro you know how I roll. This would be awesome for those of us who have to deal with car seats in our non track/enthusiast time, though. Things are a bitch to get in and out of a 2 door.

cool, but lambo doors make just as much since, witch is why they made them in the first place. No door Dings and a cantilever and spring combo is much lighter than whatever electric systems they had for that.

and as others have stated,  id dont like my power windows because they usually don't work, id hate power doors!

Yeah, but those aftermarket Lambo doors look stupid and don't work very well either, they do not clear the door jamb far enough.

I have not heard of this electrical problem, I love my PW.

they do look dumb but they only ad a few lbs, not a hundred
or gull wings could solve the issues somewhat but we don't have the structure for that

@ Wolf
Over time for whatever reasons the driver switch seams to stop working for the function of both sides, cleaning the contacts helped on my Pass control but not the drivers, and this is my 3rd switch in 2 years

it will roll the Drivers side up, but not down for whatever reason, you can hear the arc on the way up so it at least is getting power but down is dead silence

After cleaning, did you put some dielectric grease in the key locations?  Works wonders.

I need to post up the images for a tutorial that I made a few weeks ago.

doors on cars have been the same throughout the history of the automobile more or less

i think it should stay that way.

what an epic waste of money

Are you suggesting carriage/suicide doors?
TurboNotchMay 20, 2010, 3:14 pm · #20

But those style doors still open in the same way as normal doors, just backwards. The Lambo style doors arnt realy a bad idea, the hard part is getting them to work right. Most of the ones I've seen are crap due to poor instalation. If the hinges are braced right and adjusted right they tend to work well. But I think they would look like shit on full frame doors like ours.
