My feeling in it is if you split off into an North American group all it can do it hurt the club. I think if anything to make it stronger of an international board you would want to incorporate sections dedicated to the various areas right here rather than breaking it up into more sites. Basically having a central location for everyone with sub groups within the same board so you don't need to link to different groups everywhere.
Kinda like a Mustang broad I belong to separates the different chassis into sub-groups. They are all separate, but on the same board so all you have to do is jump from one to another on the same board.
I think that would make incorporating ideas from one area/group of builders to another much easier.
I mean we already have subs for engines that never made it here in the first place, why not just have the subs for the area of the world for an easier collaboration?
That is what makes more sense to me.
And Arro I need to get down there again and take that FJ for a ride.

North American S12 Club?
ArroTo the best of my knowledge, with the exception of the KA engines, everything is pretty much the same, or nearly so. There are some differences in the ecu connectors for single-cam CA engines in the UK, but otherwise the only information on this forum specific to North America is with the KA engines. Which is rendered irrellevant because we have an FJ section here, too, and the FJ was never available in North America. In fact, I think there may be a total of three FJ powered S12's on this side of the world, incl. mine.
So from a technical standpoint, most of what is discussed here is applicable to S12's worldwide. And what isn't (KA, FJ, etc.) is equally represented on this forum.
I am really hoping to hear from Omer (Praisewood) on this, as his region has no local S12 forum as far as I know, and he is a regular patron here.
So you are saying that there are no writeups on aus12 or s12oc that arent on here as well? Because that is what I am getting at. It would be nice to be able to get all my info from one source if this is supposed to be the coverall of s12 sites. I get what you are saying as far as we have tech sections for engines not even offered in the states, so it should be universal. BUT, its not. While a lot of the info will carry over, the threads we have on here are largely geared towards getting an s12 running and on the road in the USA or Canada. I want to see what the Aussies are doing with sr's and ca's. Do I go to the International s12 site to see that? No. I have to go to the Australian site to see that. When i wanna see what the Brits are doing with their suspension, do I go to the International site? No. I have to go to the UK S12 site. Both the statements are made with the knowing that there are a FEW members from both areas that do keep updated build threads on c-s12. I frequent both AUS12 and S12OC because I like to get new ideas from other parts of the world and see what other people are doing to their s12s. It seems a little odd to me that I cannot get international info on an international site.
I in no way am trying to diminish this site or its members. It because of club-s12 and you all that keep it going that I decided to purchase my s12 in the first place. I love it here. I would love to see more added to it from other parts of the world is all I guess.
I have never really posted my thoughts on this topic, or any topic concerning the club for that matter. So this will be my first time to voice my opinion, i however dont want anyone here to think that i am downing any club or anything.
I honestly feel that if the site was truly a international forum there would be much more interactions that take place than currently do. What i mean by this is that many of the Americans on the site tend to not really have any international interaction, what i mean by this is that very few people look outside of the normal american builds, no one ever tends to have anything to say to the other non-usa members.
What i am about to say is a really touchy subject however i really think that it is a great example.... a certain member on here had multiple links to featured international publications and other media that international members were featured in, several of these were contained in his signature. Arro said that if they wanted to have their media published then they could do it themselves, fact of the matter is that very few of these members browse this forum any more. Arro decided to just deleted them off of his signature. to me just little things such as those links make a forum more international based. On another note Henery's magizine feature was a starting point for all s12s and i would like to say congrats and that if you havent had a chance to look into it do so, I feel that instead of arro trying to prevent any coverage of henerys accomplishment and deleting threads that had to do with it was a little rediculious. Henery's article should have been a big hit on here an should have even possibly been stickied, I say this because not every country that visits the site has the super street avaliable to them. however a member was told that it needed to not be posted cause he was banned and it had his car in it, does it really matter whos car it is? i mean it was a s12 in a mag sweet! I understand that arro isnt on good tems with him, and i also dont know the whole story but apparently it was over a conflict of intrest. I feel that really the American members are causeing the site to become more American based than international based due to actions like this
This already is 'Murkica S12. There should be an International site created that brings everything together. I like that idea alot, flips the whole thing around and makes it a stronger union between us and the nether regions.
It would be cool if we had a WTB/WTS for each country. So you could be on our WTB/WTS but only a click away from another country's WTB/WTS cause those Euro lights are badass.

Unfortunately we need to make updates to solidify this in the current age. Just know we are working on it. Its not always a simple task to undo wrong ideas that have been rooted into place by past events. (sorry, kinda struggling to find the best way to word this, that sentence doesnt feel right to me, but its the closest i could get out of my head lol)

As the results of the poll shows at the moment though, a majority do not want this site to change to a North America only site.
there is a number of different ways that things could be changed...almost all of them are difficult to implement.
Club S12 remains international site and a NORAM S12 is formed.
Club S12 would have to be revamped some to make it more international based, NORAM would have to start from scratch and possibly have useful how tos and what not copied and pasted from club-s12...
Club S12 is a NORAM S12 site, an International S12 site is formed
Club S12 would have to be revamped some to make it a better NORAM site, international s12 would have to start from scratch...how tos and what not are either archived or transferred over...either way it is a huge undertaking.
Club S12 is revamped to be both a NORAM site and an international site
a number of things would have to be revamped on the forum for this to work out well...
Club S12 remains International Site while hosting a NORAM section
Things would have to be revamped to host a NORAM section, while ClubS12 be revamped to be more international.
club s12 remains in place as is
club s12 could slowly be revamped to be more international, but at the same time more NORAM. This would be more of a compromise than anything as it would make it so things wouldnt have to be transferred or started from scratch...but it means 1 site couldnt be fully pledged in one direction or the other...so it would be a compromise...but then again my s12 build is just a giant list of compromises...
the way i see it, there IS no NorAm site, as was said, this would just further seperate everything. Not many peopple (if any at all) would really post on a dedicated international board. Club-S12 takes the title of international purely by the fact that it has been around since the beginning of the forum outbreak. As someone said, the other countries opted to seperate themselves, not the other way around.
The most likely to happen at all would be your last option listed. In my opinion that is exactly how it is now, just needing some software and homepage updates to reflect this a bit more.
vg30e_x2_200sxAnd Arro I need to get down there again and take that FJ for a ride.
Needs valvecover gasket and headgasket replaced, then timing and carbs set. otherwise everything else is good to go.
....... wow that first question on the poll is just 2 reworded questions
the first one says it straight up and the second one just tries to justify that since the site is hosted we should be in charge here
Not at all, the second question depends on the first one. As it stands now, the results of the first question render the second question irrelevant, but if it had been different results for question #1, the second question would be *very* relevant.
OR,
If we decide to disregard question #1, then question #2's results become relevant.
They aren't exactly independent of each other, question #2 is dependent on question #1.
You could answer, for instance, "no" on question #1, but still vote on #2 in case a "yes" scenario described in #1 ends up happening regardless.
Example based on present results: No, I don't think this site should have a separate North American and International setup, but IF it ends up that way, it should be hosted by Club-S12 in its own section.
if there is a seperation of international and us sites, the int'l should be an archive of information ONLY, no forum.
but leave it as it is.
murika.

I agree with this wholeheartedly.
I like the idea of having all of our collective knowledge in one place (here). We could create separate language boards within this site, maybe.
Can't do separate language options, all it affects is the system text (section titles, mainly). It won't translate posts or PM's. Besides, English is spoken all over the world more and more.
And most operating systems these days have translation capabilities anyhow.
I'm no longer going to argue, warn, or entertain discussion on this. Some of you think you're championing one cause or another, but all you're doing is shitting in the technical sections. The moderators are now going to just delete anything that strays off topic from the OP's post. If it persists, we'll lock down those responsible.
