Still no luck selling it Jon?  I started up college, so i have no spare cash atm.

I thot I'd had a buyer, but turned out to be a scam. Can't believe I was so gullible. Counterfeit check and all.  So, I'm now finally again trying to find a good home for this "Z".
Good news on the college. What are you taking?

whats up name my name is Ethan, Im living in the phoenix area right now going to ASU
went to check out an s12 today to pick up for a project, never owned one before. it looks good has original paint (i think) and only 52k original miles. its also ka24de swapped and comes with another dual cam ka if i were to buy it. also comes with original and aftermarket (cheap) wheels and tires.
I guess i just registered to say whats up and if you guys think i should go after this or let it pass by. the owner says it runs just fine but had the engine all taken apart when i was there today due to a head gasket change.
The guy is asking around $2000 but im pretty sure i can talk him down quite a bit. So what do you guys think? i can get pics sometime this week
Thanks! Ethan

Hey Ethan welcome to C-S12 Thumbs Up!

i have to wonder if it's someone who was/is on here that's selling it... either way, the good news is you'd get a swap car with one of the better choices on the north american side of the world... the only question is, how clean the swap job was. Depending on who did it, it could be good or it could end up being nothing but a headache for you. Sorting out someone's mistake can be a bitch. Almost always better to start with a virgin car so the wiring is clean. I said almost... if the swap was done well, then this might be the car to buy.

Did you ask the guy if he was from here?

Sounds like it could be a good deal if the swap was done well. Just inspect everything, look for shoddy work and you can always try to talk that price down Smiley Welcome to the club.

^^ That's what I'm thinking. I still dream about that car.

ArroSep 24, 2010, 5:32 pm · #11

What some of us call "copper"... but yeah, I'd love to find an '84 turbo model in copper, and restore it toa clean OEM state.

Welcome to the club, also try to do what maxpow said, get that price down some.  Or try at least.  If you can get ANY off, you win!  Haha.  Will be watching for updates

Well, I let it go. Friday nite, flash lights in hand, loaded it on their trailer. Brought back memories of the 200SX. Here's the drama - while I was sitting behind the wheel, backing the "Z" onto their trailer,
instantly the whole inside of the car was filled with smoke, I saw an orange glow thru the smoke like flames in the insturment panel, all this simultaneous with what felt like spewing molten plasma &/or high voltage electric wires hitting my left ankle

and the blister on my ankle has already popped from where, I now realize, I got sprayed with steaming hot antifreeze. Figure we popped a heater hose. That was startling, to say the least. I instinctively, instantly shut off the car and jumped out of that steam bath. Wow, that was crazy! (I'd started the car before they arrived, and let it run the whole time, the longest it has run in years, as we were trying to load it onto the trailer.) O, of course, the orange glow was just the instruments as seen thru all that steam!
A bittersweet goodbuy!

Haha you can't let go of one without something interesting going on.  Oh well, mine was a good memory, though I worry the 200 is dying a slow painful temporary death atm.

I'm going back to college for Computer Information Programming, which is what I went for previously, but never finished.  Keep in touch, I don't plan to let your 200 go any time soon, even if she has a major meltdown soon.  I'll take a cab to work 2 days a week and the bus to college if I have to.
