Hello everybody, I am new to club-s12. I've been thinking about getting an s12. My brother and I have had 4 s13's and we know a little bit about the S-chassis. My plans are to get well informed and learn some good information on s12's and Hopefully one day i can have a great s12 like the members on here. I appreciate good knowledge and I'm open to constructive criticism. I'm looking forward to joining this forum.
Thanks,
Lex

whats up man.
Welcome to club-s12.
This website has tons, and tons of info on everything s12.
So what are your plans for your s12?
Engine swaps? upgrades?
He doesn't have one...
Welcome dude!
lol. somehow i skipped that part haha. my bad.
Get a s12! Its a great experience (swaps, tuning), easy to work with, and fun as hell to drive
Yeah, easy to work with if you live somewhere that isn't plagued by rust. Mine has been nick-named "The Knuckle Buster." It isn't so easy to work on. But get yourself a cali-car and get going!
Oh. My car was from the center of florida.. so it wasn't horrible lol

Compared to s13 the s12's biggest disadvantage is the independent rear suspension. The s13's multilink rear suspension makes the s12's semi trailing rear arm suspension look stone age in comparison. Besides that the s12 doesn't really have any huge draw backs and if the semi trailing rear arm design really bothers you for some reason you can always opt for an 84 ca20e s12 that offered a solid rear axle in place of the independent rear.
Welcome to the club.
My plans are to get an s12 coupe and to swap my front and rear suspension out of my s13 when i crash it. I have been reading up on the rear suspension and how much fabrication is needed to swap the s13 subframe and fab up your shock towers. It is definately an obstacle that i would like to overcome and put into the s12.
As for engine wise ill swap in my sr20det that i have in my s13 coupe. I plan for a full rebuild and upgraded GT2871r .64 boosting somewhere around 15psi. I'm looking for good throttle response and torque, versus high horsepower and turbo lag.
Right now I try to drift my s13 and have done 1 auto x event and a couple of canyon runs. For the s12 I plan on doing the same.
Lol. so this isn't just another newbie.. this guy knows whats up and what to expect.
Good luck with your build.. keep us posted man.
Welcome! if you plan to swap to SR20DET, find an XE Notch model. They come with the CA20E and will be easier to swap (also cheaper to buy). Best of luck!
Thanks for the advice, but right now trying to find a good s12 in SoCal is pretty rare. Been searching CL but only 1 post shows up.
Dude, I used to hang in Chino all the time.
Finding one out here isn't impossible, just takes a little patience. Hell, Sterling has like four or so in his back yard.
Welcome bro. Stay posted in the meets section as ill be hosting a meet and possible bbq in the la/oc area later this year (Dec) it'll give u a chance to meet some of the socal peeps in person including the San Diego 3 lol.
