Nice! Another member with the s13 SE's. Definitely my favorite cheap OEM Nissan rim for the 4 lug s12's. My 85 hatch is sporting them as well  Wink

Hey everyone. How's it all going? My name is Jimmy and I'm new to the s12 chassis but not to Nissans. I have two '91 240sx's. My hatchback has been SR swapped and my coupe is currently rocking the stock KA which I plan to turbo in the future. here's some pictures since who doesn't like pictures!?

I'm thinking about picking up an S12 and originally joined because I wasn't having any luck finding any locally on CL. That's my story. Have a good one fellas.

As a fellow s13 and previous s14 owner I will give you the same warning I give all the new guys that join with s13's or s14's looking to pick up an s12. In comparison to the s13/s14 the s12 has next to no aftermarket and instead of getting a nice multilink rear suspension they got sub standard semi trailing rear arms (84' ca20e s12's however got a solid rear axle for that year only). That said, a lot of s13/s14 stuff will bolt on the s12 with either no modification or small modification so you shouldn't let the small "technical" aftermarket deter you. Really the biggest drawback of the s12 is the semi trailing rear arm suspension that 90-95% of them came with. Other than that though the s12 doesn't have any huge faults and at the minimum can make for a good low budget daily driver/weekend warrior.

Welcome! clean S13's you have there. I see the coupe is an Auto  nerdystraight keep up the search for the S12. They are sweet!

I already knew that about the s12 and I know that some of the s13 suspension can be swapped over. I'm not really too concerned about that and if I can find one I want to do a ca18det swap. The funny thing is I'm about to do a ca18det swap for a friend of mine into his s13 so I'll have some practice with the motor prior to getting mine (if I can find one)

It's good you already have a clear upgrade path in mind, and obviously you have some experience with these things. The only thing I'd add to Redneck's otherwise spot-on post is that the S12 is a bit lighter, and that for some people, they want the 80's style that it embodies.

But yeah, everything he posted is correct.

Good luck with the CA18DET! They can be sweet engine when they want to be  laugh (Don't try to get more power w/o Megasquirt. You'll only make things worse).
