2012 Calendar?

Some of you have been sending pictures for a 2012 calendar, but I haven't announced one... the reasons for which are because last year, there was hardly any participation on the submission end (you can thank a few stubborn regulars and drama), and because frankly, I've been super busy with school.

I actually have a cover image ready, IF, and only if, I received photos without having to scream and yell. SO... if this is something that some of you want, then I suggest that at least 12 of you submit high-resolution images, with reasonably flattering shots of your car. As people like David B have proved in the past, it doesn't have to be in perfect condition to be a good shot, especially if it's a good action shot.

So it's up to you guys. You want it? I have the same gripe that I had last year when it didn't happen. I can't do it without participation.

IF you guys really want this, say so. Doing it isn't hard for me, because I still have all the printing resources ready to go.

I'll put one in after I rebuild the motor.

Resolution is 2500 width or larger preferred.  Remember, these are going on a 14 inch plus piece of paper.

Most cameras can handle 3000x2000 at least.

they're resolutions, pixel counts.

he's saying that if you take a silly little cell phone pic and they go to blow it up and put it on the calendar it's gonna look like hell.

the higher the number of pixels, the less the image degrades when you make it larger.

aaahhhhhh, makes sense. so how many megapixels should the camera be?

VG33ERGazelle?Oct 27, 2011, 8:43 pm · #9

well, a 24MP camera will produce 6000X4000.....so anything between that and a 6MP camera, which produces the 3000x2000

to put that into perspective, the camera on my Droid X2 is 8MP. really you just need a newer camera.

You can use the pic I submitted last year if you still have it on file.

I probably will include pics submitted from last year, since the permission to use them was already previously granted, but I'll need a bunch more as only a handful of last yeat's submissions were usable.
