When we think of legendary Nissan "S" Chassis, the first images that come to mind are the famous S13 and S14. These models are also very popular with tuner and Drift performance. Among the copies distributed S12 with us in the 80s under the name 200SX, the fact remains that some still outstanding. Like many Japanese cars of that era, few are those who were lucky enough to fall into the hands of owners who keep them. The most exclusive models of the 90s, they are now highly sought after by fans of Japanese cars.
The Nissan S12 that we present you today is a U.S. copy with a 3.0 liter V6 engine. (VG30E), an option that was not available in Canada at the time. Introduced to Japanese cars of this era by a friend, Dominic found this copy in 2010 in Hamilton, Ontario via the popular website Kijiji classifieds. Dominic have Already own a S13, his love for sports cars produced by Nissan made him go 7 hours from is hometown to eventually fall in love literally on that S12, who is originally from Pennsylvania. Back in Quebec, Dom had to make some minor repairs to pass inspection of the SAAQ. Since then, he has made several changes to its S12 that he drives daily since two years.
Originally equipped with an automatic transmission, Dom's S12 has now a 5 speed manual transmission from a 240SX remanufactured combined with a R200 differential. The gearshift via a "short shifter" from ISIS.

To keep the classic look of his S12, Dom got his hands on four wheels 16X8 0 offset and 16X9 0 offset Work Ewing that he sanded and polished by himself. He also replaced the original suspension by "coilover" type from BC suspension. Several other suspension parts from S13 and S14 were also installed to provide a more aggressive setup to this Japanese classic.
Dom's S12 was produced in 1987, it is part of the second generation (MKII) produced by Nissan on this chassis. Preferring the "look" of the original MKI, he changed the external elements to differentiate the first of the second series as the front bumper, taillights, front grill and front position lamp. The entire SE kit and a rear spoiler from a 200SX turbo.
With the exception of Recaro driver seat, steering wheel and NRG quick release, shift knob from Powered by Max, the original interior has been preserved to maintain the atmosphere of a Japanese classic 80's car's .
