i picked this up recently.
its an 87 SE, 320k miles, siezed engine. they guy that had it before me had it since 1994.
it didnt seem to have many issues, so away i went!
good guy gus had a spare bottom end, so we will be rebuilding that one. the plan is to use the old heads on the new block.
we thought the car had a blown strut mount up top, but we pull it off and this happens.
DAFUQ. okay, thats not good.
we got the intake manifold off, it was full of crap. lets take a peek at the valve covers...
oh, well then..... thats mold. yay!
ill have more pictures later.

1987 SE, project oldy but moldy!
Wow, looks llike a seagull pooped in your motor lol
I got vg strut tubes and stuff we are going to be getting rid of soon
Damn thats a shit load of moldy in there!
Make sure you don't breath that stuff guys
How do we know that's mold? Living on oil? What the hell is that stuff??
Red, is it really bad to breathe in mold?
Turbo, you're telling me -____-
Jeremy, I have no other explanation as to what it could be.
Wait a sec Gus calls me and don't even tell me you were the one that was at his house with that shit happening? Lol
Yes its bad to breath in mold it can get in your lungs and grow causing you to get really sick
Night, yeah that's me haha
Turbo, well, shit. Good thing I didn't breathe like right next to it. Haha
Mold /fungus can lead to a fatal pneumonia, or even get in to your blood stream and go to other organ systems. So avoid shop vacs and anything else that will get that stuff airborne.
Hah so is he buying those struts tubes from me for you or is he just a middle man? Lol
Red, holy shit! I didn't know that.
Night, well, he needs one and I need one :p
Sorry for the lack of updates guys, I'm in the process of buying a new daily.
Your SE is a pneumonia spreading moldy trap.
The strut tubes are for him lol, plus doesn't hurt to have a spare one. This motor is disgusting, but nothing a hot tank won't cure!
Lol alright cool.
I don't think just a hot tank will fix that...
Looks like it was pulled from the bottom of the ocean.
HUGE UPDATE!
I have no updates. Hopefully this pneumonia spreading moldy deathtrap will soon be a drifting pneumonia spreading moldy deathtrap! ftmfw!
Oh that strut top that I cut my finger on a few times, lol.
my car is so crummy i wouldnt be surprised if you got like, super herpes.
hahah, that explains why I had a hard time removing the rusted and destroyed strut insert.
So, Gustavo and I got a head off today....
WHAT THE FUCK?
I don't..... There's no holes in the block. Or anything.

This SE is defying physics. Someone needs to call Stephen Hawking to figure out this shit out.
5 pistons, six pistons, should run the same right?? LMAO, thanks for great pics!! Wonder what side B looks like.
Was that thing living with sponge bob?
Redneck on 06:25:28 PM / 21-Mar-13This SE is defying physics. Someone needs to call Stephen Hawking to figure out this shit out.my point exactly!! I can't think of any way on how this this could have happened!
Woah the vg30 has been rusting soo bad, fake gold is growing as a mold on the pistons!
What the fuck? Possibly sucked up water through the intake? Then again that would of been through a flood if so lol
Yeah. This car is utterly ridiculous. I don't even know what to think. The other side is slightly better. But only by default.

Block is out! We found the missing piston, woooo!
How to easily lift the chassis when youre too lazy to bring the jack over? BAM!
Engine go bye-bye. Turns out my trans seems to be in REALLY good shape, it looks recently redone.
Where the piston was... with its friends! Crankshaft and main bearing girdle!
Oh god.

Hopefully this shows everyone what I'm dealing with, lol
Holy shit! I thought my 18det was bad with blown ringlands and no metal in sight or scoring on the walls I was just as mystified as you although yours takes the cake. I assume you are swapping in a good motor? Or are you going to try to rebuild this one?
building up a spare block that gustavo had. i just need one more piston with rod, and shes hood to go. i have new rings, bearings, gaskets, the whole nine yards. just needs assembly
Ahh good shit then....
Trans is in REALLY good shape, it would be a shame if..... Somebody stole it!
Seriously if I were religious I would pray for you to get an S12 that doesn't have something seriously wrong with it :P
I hope you get this running sooner than later... but I would pull those heads and while wearing a facemask, disassemble them. Oh shit, just hand them to a head shop and tell them to rebuild them. Let them deal with the cleaning.
But there's no way you can just kinda "clean them up a bit" and then bolt them back on. You're gonna have to rebuild the valvetrain now anyways. Might as well have a shop do it.

+1 to this, if the rest of the valvetrain and suspension is anything like the strut tube I bought from you guys I would hunt down everything to be replaced like upgrade to the s13 /s14 front, z31 rear. I still can't get over what I have found inside that strut tube...
Arro, me getting a S12 that isn't 100% boned is, well, impossible. Take the heads apart?! Naaaah. They've been hot-tanked and are ready to rock. Plus, I don't have money to take them somewhere. Lol
Wonderingraven, I would do all of that... If I had money.
Is my car finished yet? I'm itchin' to drive something bitchin'
Itchin to drive something bitchin? My s12 is ready to drive ;)
that old vg will fire up for sure she seems to be in good hands
that pan carnage shot is awesome. fucking crank counterweight. COUNTERWEIGHT!
IggyEGuana on 11:49:12 PM / 10-Apr-13that pan carnage shot is awesome. fucking crank counterweight. COUNTERWEIGHT!you should see the pics after the chocolate milk settled, you see the rest of the piston on the bottom of the pan
S12rich, there is a new one :p
Waylon, yeah dude that engine is pretty fuckin gnargnar. Anyone have a pickup tube?!
Well, this is my old oil pan.
It doesn't look too bad there, but, here....
Yeaaaaaah, that's a super messed up baffle lol.
The pick up tube is FUBAR as well.
I was going to try to fix them, somehow, but, instead I tried to look for other VG's that were front sump. Z31's are rear sump. Maximas and Quest vans are possible. But, there was an Infiniti at the yards, and everything matches up perfectly.
Gustapito, AKA gustard and I went to the yards, dropped the front crossmember, and pulled the pan and pickup easily and they match perfectly.
So, SE-V6 guys needing a new pan or pickup, or people doing a conversion, M30 stuff is bolt on!
Hey you still need crank pully?
I do! Unfortunately bills come first, and there were some extra ones this week -__- next weekend though I should be able to swing it
I got some reservations about pulling it off my spare motor cause its going in my car hopefully soon but let me know and ill put some serious thought into it if you can't find one.
