1985 CA20E S12 - Auto
The car is in amazing condition considering all these years. Before me (past three weeks only), it has been owned by only one person. He took immaculate care of it, which can be seen in the pics. It was the original owner's baby and it shows. The car still gets up and goes as I have tested it up to 80 and the shop owner has thrown it a bit sideways to see how well the suspension still is, which is good as well. The engine bay is still stock and untouched so that is one clue as to how well maintained it was. In addition, only one person has sat in the rear seats and that was only to test it as it was said that no one had ever sat in them before and it was confirmed from the feel, no one had sat in the rear before that one time.
Price is $2600 OBO and yes, I am expecting a lower offer so have at it!

SOLD [WA State, US] 1985 CA20E - $2600 OBO
damn I wish I had the money that car would be perfect for kendra. damn how soon you looking to sell
That price is way high for a CA20 ATX car unless it's way low mileage. What's the mileage?
It is at the shop but I think it was 60. And it doesnt matter if the price is way high. I have chosen a price expecting to be talked down and to find another S12 in such virgin condition is rare as eff.
60,000? 60,000 would be pretty good, you should go and snap a pic of the odometer. Looks are really a non-issue... body work and panels can be replaced, it's wear and tear and wiring that makes an S12 worth more than a grand or a grand and a half.
But yeah if it is around 60K miles AND in good interior/exterior shape, AND automatic CA20, then it's a good bet it's been driven gently. In which case yeah, 2 and a half grand is a good starting point.
Either way it does look unmolested which is a big deal.
The intent was to replace my FC as the CA20E Auto is much better as a daily and such. But I am still a bit too attached to the FC and those I would sell the FC to are not quite ready. So with the 12 being so nice and where I am, I felt that someone else would be able to appreciate it more. That and plans (non-car related) did not go through as planned and I need to liquidate some of my assets ...
Also to add, the car is currently at Mr.510's shop as he is giving it a professional once over and all that good stuff.
I don't think the price is too high. The door panels looks mint, which is a rarity. The car is clean, 100% original and it's low mileage!
GLWS!
Reminds me of my car when I got it, with twice the mileage!
GLWS Colin.
I saw this car for sale a few weeks ago and i swear the miles were around 150,000ish but i could be wrong...Id buy this for a grand fo sho if it was a notch id pay more
it looks really good.... i dont think 2500.00 is unreal for it...but no AC hurts it for a DD
No a/c not too big a deal here in the Seattle area
Very clean car, no road salt rust anywhere? Unnatural Northen Car.
Not much salt used around here, so despite all the rain we have alot of older cars with minimal rust.
No ac as in it doesnt work or no.ac as in it doesnt have the ac components to make it work?
sideways_s12 on 01:28:36 PM / 22-Feb-13No ac as in it doesnt work or no.ac as in it doesnt have the ac components to make it work?
if you look at firewall in engine pic no lines there for ac i dont think it ever had it
I agree with Mark - btw isn't that car the coveted "Cutter Blue"?
No not the right blue lol
This one is a darker blue than the one Mark loves so much.
The lighter blue is a Mark II color.
Posted pic of the odo reading would be helpful to verify mileage. If it is indeed low, the price is reasonable. It's too bad you aren't keeping it, Colin... like you say, it would make a great DD.
I want it so bad but fear i wont have the money in time...
Arro on 09:51:40 PM / 22-Feb-13The lighter blue is a Mark II color.
Sure about that? My car have it original blue color #106 and it was available from at least 1984.
You know what, they look similar but if I remember right, the light blue paint codes are different from Mark I to Mark II. But they're very close. It's the same with "silver"... the earlier color is called "pewter" and the later one is "silver", and yes, they look slightly different when you take the color code book out into the sunlight. Not just the color but the size of the metal flake.
If I get this new job soon I will buy it lol. Talked to my dad I thing his plans are to buy one of bobs ae86. The one that owns drift office
