I bought this for my 88 S12 v6 hoping it would fit. So it is still new will sell for $45 shipped if you can use it.I'll give you 30! and a sweet internet high five :D
pretty sure thatll work in the s12 c trans
he's tried it and he says it doesn't work...
any reason why this doesn't work on the c trans?
Something about one of the bolts not lining up
i guess the 2 center bolts out of the 6 dont line up but you can use the 4 outer ones and you will be good uf no1 has pay for it call me 631-4874194 and ill get it i have pay pal ready or can send money order asap
not to hard to drill two new holes
I bolted it down with 4 and you can not get all the gears. Comparing the 2 plates the shifter arm is too far back with this one. :s If some one else wants to try they can have it for $40 shipped but no returns. You buy it its yours. I am just going to buy the arm only kit like sideways_s12 used.
It won't work on an S12 C trans. Period. I own a C-trans and an S13/14 trans, the shifter plate is not even the same casting. If you have a KA24 or SR swap and used the S13/14 transmission, you can use this, however some of these knock-off complete shifters have the holes cast in the right place, but some do not. Mine didn't and I had to RTV the hole sealed. No big deal, it worked. HOWEVER...
When I removed it to switch to a riser-style adapter and shifter, I found that the plastic bushing on the shift arm was worn to the point of almost broken apart. It would have spit this plastic piece into my transmission. NO BUENO! When I bought the riser-style shifter and adapter, the bushing on the shifter arm was much beefier than the one on the complete shift assembly like this one. So, flimsy one was thin black plastic, and beefier one was thicker white plastic.
Now, his might be fine, the holes might line up... or the holes might not. Or the bushing might be a POS. You won't know until you see it.
BUT... this will NOT WORK ON ANY S12 TRANSMISSION.
Keep this all in mind.
Now, having used both this design and he riser-style adapter, I am convinced that the end-all best choice is actually the B&M shifter assembly for S13/14 trans, OR a generic riser adapter/shifter designed for the S13/14 trans but used on the S12 C-trans. If you have the B-trans, just flip the shifter pivot bushing (there is information on here about that).
Still got the short throw?
