nights se build (pipe dreams)

So I figured its about time I started one of these. Well over a year ago I traded my 2002 mitsubishi lancer OZ Rally for an 1988 se that had been sitting in storage for 7 months. It had blown shocks and struts, one headlight, running an open MAF, rotted tires and a broken exhaust. Proceded to drive it 200mi back home. Next day got new tires and put a bulb in it.  Two weeks later packed up and drove it 1100mi from florida to here in illinois. Its been a year and in that time iv done some things. New sway bar endlinks up front, poly steering rack bushings, new rear shocks, mkI grill and corners, half ass fixxed the exhaust, maxima alternator, '87 se steering wheel, pioneer head unit. So far nothing major. Some thing that need some attention are leaking brake caliper, front struts, full  exhaust, new windshield.

As most of you know I bought a parts car a while back and you know that I that I hit  a truck while I was working for continental tire. Well I used the hood and extra mkI grill/corners to fix the truck damage. Well about 2 weeks after fixing that damage, a deer decided to shit on my parade by jumping out from some guys yard. Now once again I have a damaged hood, shatered grill, and a corner light snapped in half. I don't have the cash for a new hood yet. I want to a turbo hood to be honest or possibly make my own vented from either fiberglass or carbon fiber.

Immediate plans are swapping out the autotragic for the 5speed that's in the parts se. I already got the clutch peddle and master cylinder off. tomorrw hoping to get out the hardlines out in one piece and drop the drive shaft.

So I haven't really been able to make progress on pulling 5speed shit but I can notice that the compression in getting worse in my #2 and #6 cylinders. Hell I'm sitting here in the hobby lobby parking lot waiting for my sister to get off work and I can smell burnt oil. Also my acceleration is so shitty. Whether from a standstill or while already at speed.
I need to get a hoist and swap VG's. Hell it'd be so much easier to do the 5speed swap if I did the whole drivetrain at once.

got a box from rockauto today- moog balljoints. will install these and my new struts possibly this weekend or next.

today im also gonna be unhooking shit on the other car (as long as it dont rain) and get it ready to do the swap. iv decided to do it all in one shot, motor and trans. once i get it all ready all ill have to do it borrow an engine hoist from a buddy of mine.
im kinda worried about kinking the clutch lines so im gonna pull those off the other car after i pull the motor out. i figure if i pull the motor out of my car then install the clutch lines, master, pedal itll be easier on me especially since ill probably be doing this myself. my only problem is i gotta figure out where to put the spare motor since i wanna keep it to build later on. ill have approximately 2.5 days to get the swap done right and driveable. only because my brother in law has only two days off in a row and other than that im the one who takes/picks up my sister from work so it has to be done right the first time.

at the same time i pull my vg out ill replace my radiator with the non-cracked one from the other car and clean up the bay. i may possibly wait till the week of june 2nd through the 8th. my sister and brother in law will be on vacation so ill actually have more time to get shit done like replacing my radiator core support and painting some things.

I assume your talking about the one from autozone? If so be careful its a piece of shit and will warp your lcas easily

yeah. still cheaper than buying full lca's

ya it is just a warning because if you warp the hole the balljoints go in then you will need new lcas

Had to cut my AC belt off last night. Deffinately sharper on the throttle for some reason lol. Might just delete the AC
