hazard lights not working

so i'm having a problem with my hazard lights, my turn signals work fine until i hit the hazards.. once my hazard switch gets flipped on signal lights go out..I turn it off and signals come back on, i was told to clean my combo switch already done and my problem is still there i cleaned contacts and still nothing...is the problem the switch or is there a fuse or relay around that i need to switch.??
