the one thats stuck open will idle kinda high and on my gauge it says im running really rich...
The one thats stuck closed will idle low and bog.. eventually die...
if someone has one plz let me know...
WTB: Bypass Air Regulator

Your best bet is to get a new on from Nissan. It doesn't cost that much, think I paid around $40-$50. Auto zone may be able to order one for you as well. That way you will know it will work. Buying a used one is either going to already be screwed up or won't last very long.
You may also have other problems going on.
For the first 10 years I had my car the air regulator didn't work, and the car ran fine. Only thing it didn't do was idle high when cold.
Keith, i went to the dealer and they told me it would cost 140$ and they have to order it. i think ill keep goin to the junkyard unless one of u guys have a workin one and will sell to me?
$140?? They either gave you a quote for the wrong part, or they are trying to rip you off!! I pulled my receipt from when I bought mine from a dealer when I lived in Tampa back in 2002, and although I was a little off on what I thought it cost I still paid WAY less than they told you. I paid $97.49 The list price on my receipt is also $97.49
The part number is 22660-D0360
I also just looked on Nismo parts website and they can get it for $79.65 Their current list price is $104

I only suggested to buy a new one because these things seem to be soooo delicate.....and it's always a gamble finding a good one at a junkyard.
Is that part number for the CA18ET?
Keith on the old forum you posted these part #s for the air regulators.
Part numbers for the air regulators...............
CA20: 10/'83-1/'85 22660-D0306
CA20: 1/'85-7/'86 22660-02E00
CA20: 7/'86 on 22600-02E10
CA18: 1/'84-7/'86 22660-02E60
VG30: 7/'86 on 14828-16E01
There seems to be some conflicting data here. Above you listed 22660-D0360 and here is says 22660-D0306. Which is supposed to be for the CA20 model. I recently got a new regulator from nissanparts.cc and they told me the proper number was the 22660-D0360 and I have the CA18ET engine. Should I have gotten the 22660-02E60 as stated above for the CA18?
I got that data off of the Nissan FAST program.......
On the program it says...
22660-02E60 for CA18ET from Jan of '85 to Aug of '86
22660-D0306 for the CA18ET from Jan of '84 to Jan of '85 AND
CA20 from Oct of '83 to Jan of '85
Now, when I bought mine back in 2002 for my '84 CA18ET the part number on the receipt says 22660-D0360......which wasn't listed on the Nissan FAST program at all......so only thing I can think of is that the FAST program is older than 2002 and that maybe Nissan came out with a revised part number of 22660-D0360 that replaced the 22660-D0306.....which must be the case because your part number is the same as the one I got.
Now as far as which one you were suppose to get according to the FAST program if your CA18 S12 is Jan of '85 or newer it looks like you should of gotten the 22660-02E60 I don't know what the difference could be, but if your parts guy told you and sold you the 22660-D0360 there must be a reason, and if it works like it should I would stick with that one.........
Thanks for the info Keith. Looks like i got the right one then.
My s12 is an 86 on the title but 85 on the door.. which part number do i use? i have the ca18et.
You should go by the production date stamped on the door. It gives the month and year. My car is a 1985 model but it was made in 11/84.
