This is the turbo I'm going to use it's the Street heat 40. It is a T4 40 trim compressor wheel with a T3 .48 a/r, 5-bolt turbine discharge flange turbine housing, utilizing a stage II turbine wheel. http://innovativeturbo.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.cgi/0070.4.3342840983746491739 It can flow upto 36LBS/Min.

damn.. that thing is beautiful.. i bet it'll be quite a difference with that beast on ur CA,..

So what are you doing to the internals to handle that kind of power? CA18DET forged pistons and rods? CA18DET bottom end?

Magnumdate not saved · #6

At first I'm going to use the factory engine to see how much it can take before it blows. Then I'll use a DET bottom end with Race engineering's CA18DET forged pistons and P and P head with custom Cam.

Sounds like a pretty good plan.

Jeff I hope you don't think I'm just going to strap this turbo on and think I can run it like that. I'm collecting parts to do it right and do it right the first time. I have A Sard BOV, Spearco intercooler, this turbo and a 60mm TB from a KA24DE. I have yet to purchase these parts but they are coming up next. Tial wastegate, 550cc injectors, custom front facing intake manifold, Larger fuel pump, Sard Fuel pressure regulator, 3" down pipe and exhaust with a Tanabe muffler, wideband O2 controler and a MegasquirtnEDIS to control it all. I'm going to start at a low PSI until I learn how to properly tune the MegasquirtnEDIS, then up the pressure until the engine gives up. Hopefully by then I'll have a fully built motor complete and ready to swap in.

oh no dan, I didn't assume that you were just bolting it on and going. I was just curious what you all had. The IC you posted earlier really looked nice, so it should be a pretty sweet build.

you still didn't answer the exhaust manifold question. :boxing:

yes the post above has the link to the thread of the Turbo manifold I'm building.

thats what i get for reading your long post and ignoring the other one.
:slap:

what are you going to weld the mani with? Looks like it should be a rock solid setup though dan. Definatly keep us posted on everything.

Yah, it should be interesting to see how long the CA18ET will last, and if it makes it to 36psi. :|

Yah, it should be interesting to see how long the CA18ET will last, and if it makes it to 36psi. :|I think you are misunderstanding. the turbo can flow 36lbs/min not 36psi. This turbo is happiest between 18-20psi.

Yah I was...I mis read it...sorry...:|

36 lbs/min = 475 cfm

475 cfm = T2 x 2.2

Magnum + 475 cfm + ca18et + WOT = S.E.G

Therefore, indeed there will be a shit-eating-ear-to-ear-grin directly connected to his right foot.

The math's all there ;)

Nice score man should be a wicked package.
