Well, as the title says, I put together the ultimate ghetto intake. I started with a 3" 240sx cone filter, then made my own cone filter adaptor, and then a few peices of scrap metal formed the heat sheild!
$15 cold air intake

I'll get pics in later next week, after i can borrow a camera from the school. no, i'm sure mine's more ghetto. I used a peice of house flashing and an old tuna fish can attached together.

What ever works man.
The computer hates me. i put my pics on a cardomain site, but i can't get there myself, so would someone mind finding it and posting the link? I haven't even seen my own site! It's an '87, and is listed under "Shawn's 200sx" thanks in advance!.

yay!!!!!!! Finally!!!!!!
Wow, Interesting... The adaptor looks pretty much Homemade. Good Job making a filter low budget though.
looks functional (isn't that what counts?!)..but i do see one thing...you said COLD air intake...i dont think that classifies as cold air intake? i could be mistaken tho...hendrik..did you see any gains over the stock pipe that you replaced?
Ok, just loaded the pics of mine. Still not complete, but it actually gained some mid-range.

I consider "Cold" as having a paice of metal or such to keep the filter from sucking heat from the engine.

shoot i dont even know man.. the car hasnt run 100% since i put it back together
it doesnt seem to have that much torque down low anymore (but it seemed like that the whole time since i got it running again,.. so even before i put that intake on it).. but it pulls all the way to 6k rpm

Where mine is, after you start moving, there is no air (or no considerable amount at least) that will affect its performance. I could put a shield, but I doubt that I would see a difference...
mine whistles when i get on it. sounds beautiful.

*slaps you for those AEM stickers* lol
yea, mine sounds SWEET when I rev the motor...from the throttle body..ehhe you can't hear it when you're in the cabin :(
thats a real aem intake though. just modded it.
Maybe I am just a bit slow on this... But... I noticed on the CA20 engine mods the other "cable" (see attached pic) on the trottle body is removed. I take it serves no real purpose or :-| :-| :-| ---
