What could THIS be?

Here's a conundrum for you guys to try and work out for me....

While I had the steering wheel cowl off (attempting to fit turbo timer)
, I noticed this

4 black wires, connected to a relay,

Followed the wires as best as I can, and from what I can see, it ends up joining the wires for the dash dimmer control.

It's also connected somewhere in the indicator stalk too??

I haven't got a clue as to what it may be...

from what I can see it looks like part of an alarm system, but not seeing in person I cant conferm that

well seeing how your car is RHD, i dont know how different it would be since the fuse box is on that side too.. but i would guess that it is either the wiring for the alarm or possibly for cruise control?

Thoughts are heading to alarm, though the car is fitted with one, it's not active..

But can't quite understand why its been wired in with the dash light dimmer, as well as one of the wires to the indicator stalk....

Don't think its cruise control - no other buttons to indicate it.

I plan to trace the wiring back further this coming weekend.
