New wheels
This thread was saved without dates. "Around Oct 2004" is estimated from neighbouring threads.
I've asked them already, those have +6mm offset.
Would that even work for our cars?
i think it will with mod, 40 mm will work.
i have some wheels that are 15x 6.5, the 6.5in is too close to the shock on both back and front. i didnt care for the rear but the for the front i think it is too close for fast turning.
i dont think people can put 7in on their s12 without spacers.
correct me if i am wrong.
you are wrong..heh
with a 6+ offset you'd probably have the rim sticking out a bit. possibly flush with the fenders if it's like the S13
yes, you can have a 7" wheel w/o spacers. the offset needs to be below 30+ for that to happen though.
Well, go buy it YankeeDrifter! We want somebody as a guinea pig :p
you will probably need longer front studs though.
oooooooo okay. like i care about wheels. i feel like i can do more crazy things on my stock wheels
ICE is where it's at!!! heh
How much are they? I can't find prices for them anywhere
Heh, my buddy at another shop right up the road just scored a set of 16" Watanabes for $150!!! They look kinda like that, but they're black in the center with a polished lip. I've seen a lot of the Aussie cars with em. IIRC, they sell for about $350 a piece brand new... :wall:
I Want Watanabes Dammit!!!!!
Yeah, me too! I told the dude that got em that his car was gonna be up on blocks the next morning... Good thing it didn't actually happen though or he woulda been blaming me!
watanabe-esque.
Yeah, I'm not for ICE either, just that I have the factory sheet metal ones, and they're getting tired, s i'm gonna keep an eye out.
Hey, I just did a little bit of checking into these wheels, didn't actually find out anything on the offset, but they sell the 16" silver finish wheel for $221, and if you want the polished lip it's $15 extra per wheel.
Now, if you want a gunmetal or black finish, they have to special order them from Japan, but it's only about $30 extra. Only bad part is they said sometimes it takes a couple months, sometimes 6 months, just have to have a lot of patience...
So they still end up cheaper than the Watanabe's anyway. But if someone keeps the gunmetal Watanabes in stock, it might be worth it to pay that extra money...
