Hey guys. I am here because my friend here (ray7se-r) just bought a s-12. We both own b-14's and now we are working on a ca18det.

I have worked out successful group buys for headers in the past, and I want to see if you guys would be interested in turbo manifolds for the ca18det. For my sr20de, I worked out prices at $150 shipped for a full stainless header and down pipe.

If there is enough interest I will set up a deal with ssautochrome, who makes very nice headers. At least mine is very nice. Anyway, let me know if there is interest. Prices should be around $150 shipped, and there will be no minimum order. They way it works is a direct pay pal to them, not me.

let me know if you want me to persue this venture.
Thanks

Jay Stone

I think more people would want a ca18et turbo header than the ca18det. It seems the ca18det's are few and far between while the ca18et came stock. I would be very interested in a header if you can get one for the ca18et, so keep us posted.

I agree.

A full stainless header and downpipe for the CA18ET would be of much interest.

I worked out prices at $150 shipped

Good god that's cheap for a stainless steel header!!! SSAutochrome is actually only about an hour away from me, maybe I should get in touch with them and see if they're interested in making a custom header for the CA18ET. But I think Bart mentioned something about making one, but I'm gonna need one within the next few months...

okay, so I should try for the ca18et header and downpipe, right? They emailed me, and I am waiting on what you guys want. Please let me know asap which would be better. I have just started learning about this engine, so excuse me for being ignorant, but what is the difference between the ca18det and the ca18et?

thanks.

Jay

One of the biggest differences is is that the det is a dual over head cam motor running coil packs and 4 spark plugs, and the et is a single overhead cam motor running 8 spark plugs (2 each exhaust and intake, Not all have 8 plug,in some other countries they got a 4 plug engine). The Det is a newer engine thats found mainly in the s13's but a very few 88 S12's got them too.

Of course don't forget the ET has different exhaust ports compared to the DET and so the ET and DET need different exhaust manifolds. I too would love a CA18ET stainless turbo manifold.

I can say the SS Autochrome manifolds are a nice thing, they are very popular down this way for SR20s due to their cheap price, i have one on my car, it's a bitch to fit but does what it's supposed to. Dyno proven on local cars to give between 7kw (on a S13 180sx with stock turbo) and 12 kw (S14 with Garret GT28 ) at the wheels. If you can get one for your engines it'd be worth it i reckon.

SS autochrome is a great company. My friend bought his 38mm tial wastegate from the, for $125 or so shipped. A good deal. When i go back home and get all ym turbo things ill talk to them about getting one made for myself also.

Hey, there you are! Where in the world have you been?

Seriously though, I would definetly buy one for a CA18ET. And if they need some help with parts or fitment, like I said, I'm only an hour away, I could use my car as a guinea pig...

They contacted me about the det, but I emailed them back about the et, and I am still awaiting their response.

Stay Tuned!!!

On my friends 84 200sx, we found some cool stuff. We just picked it up last night, and he has a spare head, intake manifold w/ throttle body, it is digital, has everything working, and was only $500. The voice does not work though. Anyway, I really like the car.

What is 12NM in standard ft/lbs. What is the gain for this header, if any one knows. On my sr20de, they say it is about 15-18 hp. Sounds kinda optimistic, but maybe not. Depending on what size the down pipe is for the ca18et, this could be a very good performance mod.

Anyway, I will let you all know what they tell me, and what the final price is after shipping.

CA18ET header ... with what flange? If they can make a blank collector that I can just weld my own flange to, I'd buy one.

Sorry to be difficult, but the Garrett train left and I wasn't on it ;)

foney_emaildate not saved · #14

still waiting, sorry that I haven't gotten word yet. I just sent another message, and I should hear from them today. I am still proposing 150 shipped for a header and downpipe, and I need to know how many would place an order.

If you are interested either reply, or pm me, just so I have some numbers of how many have interest. Mr. 200, I will ask about one without a collector, or if custom collectors could be added for a small fee.

still waiting...... Jay

I will DEFINETLY buy one. I need one berry berry soon... :evillaug: And tell them if they need a car to test fit on, I'll tow mine down there since they're only about an hour away.
