Since I can't find any buyers for this head in Norway (s12's are rare), I can't see any reason to keep it. It was supposed to go into my T12 bluebird.. (distributor is different, and I'm not welding on a head!), so my project stalled.

Since the head is so nicely assembled, I'm not going to remove the valves, springs, retainers and cam and part them out... Everything you need in one package. Just the port&polish job costed me $600USD, the cam and regrind about $280... well, here's the list: (notice you get grade8 head studs and nuts aswell). All the work has been done by Paeco Industries, and most of the parts are bought from them aswell. The head and cam is, as told above, brand new and have never been used!

New OEM CA18ET cylinderhead (US make, 8 sparkplugs)
* Intake and exhaust ports enlarged and shaped for max gas flow.
* Combustion chambers contoured and smoothed for most efficient combustion.
* Valve pockets relieved for max gas flow.
* Valve seats ground to a precise 3-angle racing seat.
* Entire head glasspeened to clean and stress-relieve.
* Valve springs shimmed to the correct installed height.
* Head-to-block surface milled true.

- New OEM chamshaft
- Regrind Camshaft: *.435" lift, 270 duration
- Intake Valves
- Exhaust Valves
- Inner Springs
- Outer Springs
- Aluminum Retainers
- Rocker Arms
- Grade8 Head Studs
- Head Stud Nuts
- New valve seals
- Valve seats, retainers

The head is located in Norway, but I can have it shipped to a friend of mine in the U.S who can arrange the trade with you (if you want and live in the states)... I've got all the papers on parts and work for this head (payment, work done, guarantee on the cam, etc).

Can ship anywhere in the world. Please email me at [email removed] if seriously interested.
~ asking at least $1,000 USD.

/ see my credability at nissanforums.com and bilforumet.net aswell (Hawkon)

Paeco Industries does awsome work but I think $1000 is asking for to much.

bartc_jdate not saved · #5

i hate to sound like a ass but the exhaust port really dont look that much more opened then stock.. my own port is way larger then that... was it a mild port or just a gasket port match

Hawkondate not saved · #6

Bart, you of all people should know that even if the port is larger it doesnt need to give a better flow.

I'm sure Paeco knows what they're doing and yeah, it was only a mild port.

Paeco did the cam regrind aswell, if you didn't get that the first time. I think it's aimed at 3000rpm with a T25? well, you can see the lift/duration.

I had to pay $1800USD and wait 3 months to get this head... so sure, if you think it's much - get your own! :)

Really, the exhaust ports in a CA18ET head are already big enough, I can't see any reason they need to be bigger. The intake, on the other hand, is what I call a peanut port...

the combustion chamber is what's got me sooooo excited (not $1,000 US excited *lol*)

Notice the OVERSIZE VALVES?

Notice how they had to cut into the spark plug hole to fit?

Here's a stock for comparison ...

The exhaust ports are fine on the stock head, you wouldn't want to open them much at all unless you've got bigger valves and an amazing port on the intake side, or you'll lose exhaust velocity.

Up until I saw this, I'd been under the impression (and had been told) that oversized valves weren't an option. And that's what kept my blueprint from cracking the 300hp mark.

What size are the valves?

This head had a very professional port done to it, but I have a feeling a lot of what you paid for it was in shipping costs.

Has it been flowed?

zectordate not saved · #9

I like it, but I dont have that much cash :(

If you lower the price Im realy interested

bartc_jdate not saved · #10

since we are forced inducted the exhaust are almost more important then the intake remember any flaws in the intake will be almost counteracted since we have positive pressure(but im not saying the intake isnt important either and that we cant gain from opening it as well).. if the exhaust isnt opened up you wont be able to take advantage of the porting of the intake ..the stock exhaust is too small and opening it up will only aid in huge flow and way quicker spool, but then again when using the stock exhaust mani and serious head work would be probably unnoticed

I could take out the cam and head studs + nuts for, say, $300.. just the studs costed me around $120. And this is free shipping to Åre! :)

Mr.200: I think I paid near $250 USD for shipping TX,US - Norway with fedex.

that head is damn heavy :|

Notice the OVERSIZE VALVES?

Hmmm.... You sure about that? If they're oversize, they're not by much. I'm looking at mine right now, and the stock head has a scallop out of the intake spark plug. If they are oversize, my guess would be about .5mm. But if they are, I'd like to know where they got em, cause all my searching came up with NOTHING for oversize valves...

:yikes: Man, well that's good to know! I'd like to find out what they're making the valves out of though, doesn't really look like stainless steel. I can get stainless steel blanks from Ferrea and cut them to length and cut the groove in the lathe, but then you need some kind of lash cap to keep from beating the top of the valve up.

I'm definetly gonna check into their springs and titanium retainers though...

Got a website or phone # for em?

Magnumdate not saved · #15

http://www.paeco.com/home.html their web site says their OS valves are Stainless steel.

hello i have a ca20e i want the head and i will give u well not 1000 because i can buy a car for that and i can get my head done exactly the same fo 350$ but the thing is my exaust bolt and intake bolt holes are striped out so well i woudl be interested and ofcourse if the prise did come down some

Joel07date not saved · #17

Dude, you're fooling yourself if you think you can get the same job done for $350. You can't even get the parts in that head for $350...

Hawkondate not saved · #18

hehe, thanks for sorting that out for me, Joel.

ohh.. I'll see if I can get a scan of the reciept (!?) for the parts, just for you so you can see that I'm not bullshitting you.

Hawkondate not saved · #19

okay, couldn't find the camera, but I'll list the parts here. (I'll scan/take a pic later if you want validation):

UNIT AMT
$230 $230 DS-4-6800 CAM REGRIND ON CUSTOMER|S CORE
$18 $72 COMP INTAKE VALVES
$24 $96 COMP EXHAUST VALVES

It looks like good work, but $1000? I wold say $800. I know that's a $1000 markdown from what you paid, but you said yourself that alot of that was shipping, and also, you aren't going to sell this to the general S12 turbo public... a head like this is wasted on a stock bottom end, and most of us know that, so really the only kind of person who would be interested in this would have already spent $$$ on a DE bottom end with custom forged rods and pistons.

For $1000-1200 I can get a CA18DET, which already has the beefy bottom end, plus uses a twincam head that will far outflow anything that can be done to the SOHC head.

For around $1500, I can get an FJ20ET and do even more with it.

You may actually do better off parting it out. At least partially, like cam, studs, etc. But who knows. Definitely a really nice tophalf, but not a practical buy for most of us.

haha and I have some beachfront property in Idaho (go ahead and laugh, Bart).

This head legitimately costs what he said it did to do, they did alot of slick work to it, a real professional job.

No, this is a really nice head setup, but again for the same price I can have a whole engine swap (not counting labor) with a strong bottom end and a superior flowing head.

If the SOHC setup was our only reasonable option for S12's, this head would be a hot-demand item right now. But the fact is, it's not our best option.
