Any of you guys mould and fashion body bits for our beloved S12s? I'm thinking fibreglass bonnet to bring down the kilos a touch, not the big mound or anything, just the standard boring number and I'm just interested as to whether anyone has already thought of it and is doing it. I suck at making stuff out of fibreglass.
Thanks boys, God bless

Carbon Fibre bonnet eh?
Yeah personally I'd rather fibreglass, sorry to be the eternal pragmatist but carbon fibre has this pesky tendency to not - under any circumstances - break. May sound like an odd thing about which to complain but if you hit a wall or anything else reasonably stationary, a carbon bonnet will flex rather than snap. Unfortunately it will most likely then unflex. The result of this is that - in doing so - it will generally end up rocketing through the base of the windscreen at your face, that is if you still have one after driving into a wall. I don't want to be decapitated by my bonnet.
But yeah if he can do fibreglass as well ...huzzah
God bless

have a look, most parts will be compatible/customised for the S12's.

Fibre glass bonnets require an up front deposit, due to the many tire kickers out there, i dont lift a finger untill i see serious ppl, and real cash. That goes for full kits and any large or custom parts.

U are lookin at about the $650 mark for a plain F/glass bonnet.

Check out the site for prices, i dont run the business, i just make the stuff.

Email me for enquires.

I do all the dealing with S12 parts and customisation.

Catch ya

This was posted on the old forum by me:

I just got my reground core back from Colt Cams in Langley, BC Canada. First I\'d like to tell you all that my experience with Colt Cams was great. Great customer service. Geoff answered all of my questions and many more that I had either forgot to ask or didn\'t know to ask.

CA18ET:
Intake: 274 degrees of duration and .415 inches of lift
Exhaust: 270 degress of duration and .412 inches of lift

Characterists: This grind will help to spool the turbo sooner which means you\'ll be making boost faster. Not to mention the increase in flow. A bit more of a lumpy idle as experienced by sschung.

CA20E:
Intake: 270 degress of duration and .412 inches of lift
Exhuast: 274 degrees of duration and .415 inches of lift

Characterists: Comming soon

Please note that if you want to get your cam reground by Colt Cams you will need to let Geoff if any changes have been made to the engine. For example: Decking of the block, decking of the head, uprated valve springs, etc. This is due to the fact that he makes his grinds for stock clearances, so if you are doing something a little different just let him know so he can adjust the grind accordingly.

Contact Info: Colt Cams[/a]

Edit: If someone has first hand experience with the CA20E grind shown and has some opions on it, please PM me with the info so that I can add it to this post.

im just gonna guess theres nothing for the VG30 as it never made it up that way in a 200?

Well, my guess would be that he does have something for the VG guys. I mean, it did come in the 300zx right? I know he has done some VG30DETT work, so who knows.

Chances are he does have a grind, I just never though to ask. Best thing to do is phone and find out. If you do, let me know through PM and I\'ll add it.

This only thing is shipping will be a bit on the pricy side due to international shipping costs.

^^ I suggest you e-mail colt cams yourself to find out the answer.

Travis will be leaving for William\'s Lake early next week, and I dont know if he\'ll see this post before/while he\'s gone.  He\'ll be back after the holidays.

I think it\'s around $160 Canadian for the regrind. You supply the stock cam for regrinding.
