I Drop my other half off at work the other day sitting at light's when a S15 pulls up behined me (I was turning left ) any way after turning he pulls out and comes up beside me and keeps up with me. we pull up at the second set of lights he rev his engine and I think OK what the hell I'm going to get my ass kicked come on stock (S12 CA20E,2.5 INCH exhaust sports exhaust with extractors and tweaked air and fuel) before the lights turn green he puts his windows down looks at me and laugh's, I tell him "you know your going to kick my ass", any way light turns green I'm doing 4500rpm gear change not looking at my speed the whole way he had about car lengh in front of me, as you can he kicked my ass as we pulled up at the 3rd set of lights as I pulled up they guy told me " Not bad, I thought I would left you for dead" I think I did ok thats my stroy .

Cool, i havn't had a chance to guage my car against a S15 i did have a run against an S14 a while ago but i killed it by miles, i suspect it was auto tho. Was this S15 a man or auto? I know my old CA20 car would have been killed by more than that so good work hehe.

manual, thanks man as I said "I think I done well"

Damn you did well to keep up! nice 1.

Ive only driven against one s15. Had a nice 3' exhaust. This was when i had the stock turbs and 2 1/4 exhaust.

I sorta caught him off guard which pissed the s15 off hehe. He then pulled up next to me and we both booted it. He just kept pulling till he was 5 lengths in front.

Now would be a different story :)

non turbo S15 yeah?? Spec M?? As i have been in a few S15 spec R's and they are quite fast! unless the guy u were driving against didnt know how to drive!

but yeah well done, either way the S15 shoulda killed you, but u kept up, good work!

cant wait till i race the S15 i went in with my CA18DET, 3 inch exhaust, FMIC, pod and 12psi............i rekon i should be able to keep with him :)

one again power84, good job.

We didn't get non turbos in oz, in japan they were known as Spec S (was spec M even lower?) but we got the Spec S with a turbo but without some luxo options. It's very unlikely someone imported a non turbo 1999 model (the only year you can import) but i guess it's possible.
I'd be wary of my own chances against a light tune S15, they make good power even stock so driven by someone competant with light tune i doubt my gazu could keep pace. Against a stocker i'd hope to win tho, i'm certainly making more flywheel power than a stocker with a tad less weight but the S15 is still a weapon by all accounts. I've only run a S14a myself but smashed it, i expect it was an auto tho since i could see it had at least a cat back exhaust and boost guage the guy was trying pretty hard and it was still much slower. He didn't stop tho when i wanted him to so i could find out:(

There are a couple of non turbo S15s getting around.

There was one being around the coast driven by a P plater a while ago when the S15 was new.

Ya i guess you get all the pose factor without having to actually have a fast car. By the way you can tell jap specs by the rear window wiper (oz cars don't have em) pillar mounted boost guage (we didn't get that either) and the fact that the external badging says Silvia (oz S15s say 200sx on the boot but still say silvia on the dash and kickpanels). The rear wiper is the biggest givaway since you can add the pillar guage (it's a nissan part, so you can just order one if you like) and the badging. If it has a rear wiper and says anything other than Spec R behind the door then it'd be a non turbo.

Yeah that is kinda wierd, maybe the inside arm is to support their weight oin the centre console cos the seat is cranked waaaaay too far back.....dumbarses.

Where I live it's so much the jap car driver's that do it's more the Holden and Ford car and the people that take there mum & car out. you could say that the Hold-on drivers are trying to keep together.
