Wow! That is sweet! I like the slightly more rounded flares on that car than the Fisco car.

Whoa. That's an awesome little sucker! I was thinking L as in the old SOHC L-series Datsun motors...
Very cool though...
it is the old L series engine, but using a gear driven factory motorsport head.
i tried scanning in the article from zoom, but my scanner is utter s**t!
i've made an enquiry to Sheppo about reproducing the front splitter/airdam on this vehicle.
this would be a good adition to the ever increasing garage 13 s12 b/kit line up.
Sheppo is supposed to be getting around to seeing the car in person sometimes. The LZ is motorsport only with a twincam head as mentioned. It was used in the fisco 'white lightning' car and the DR30 race cars at the time i believe.
Without getting myself in trouble, (laws and all), I would say the car was constructed with the outer design being based on the white lighting car, (colour scheme etc.). I saw this car a while ago when I stumbled on it when I did a search on google on motorsport and the s12/Gazelle. A wild thing, but after reading the article, I see its also been nicely engineered to be a reliable race car.
I read that a whole gazelle was used as the basis for the car with the fibreglass moulds being made off that, it's a more attractive car than the old white lightning i think.
Anyone know how that car does/did in competition.

heres the site the pics are from...
Ill post the article on my site once I scan it in tomorrow (will supply links once done.)
so, I was unsure looking at the article, what engine combination was used.
so, it is the 4 cyl 'L20' block - with a motorsport designated 'gear driven' twincam head?
dam, never heard of a gear driven nissan twincam - old school as :)
Yeah it was a head only available from nissan motorsport for competition use so they aren't the most common things around.
