Ok I'm freakin PEEEED off big time, My wife had taken our 02 altima 2.5S into the dealer on Nov.2 and told em it was acting up...the usual "Nothings wrong with your car" came up. So F#CK it we drive it around. I was driving around today, and noticed the car had a wierd downshift to it, but nothing to be concerned about (so I thought). Went to Walmart tonite, and the FREAKIN car makes a noise like there was an exhaust leak, and I try to put it into drive, and I hear a "PING" and the car goes nowhere, like I had the ebrake on (which I didnt). So now I need to have it towed to the dealership in the morning (hopefully they give me a freakin loaner)....

Now after everything gets fixed, becuase it was an on going problem so my warranty or extended warranty should cover it...

The wife and I wanna purchase another car, HOPEFULLY nothing over $14,000 (as taht is what the payoff on the alty is, and dont wanna go over that) what other vehicles should we look into for a family car, must be a 4dr car, even actually considering a SUV or must I say it a F#CKING MINIVAN! lol

I'm actually hoping we can afford more then that and get me my freakin G35, as much as I want a coupe I'd go for a 4dr any day! haha....but I'm prolly only dreaming....

Oh dude don't get an SUV :gay:
If you want four doors get a WRX, if you can't afford that, get a Chaser, if you can't afford that, just get two S12s. They're going to have at least four doors between them.
But seriously, phat performance sedans are the way to go but if you want more space, buy a Stagea RS4. It's basically an R34 GTR station wagon but cheaper...they go hard.
Please I beg you, in the name of all that is holy, don't get a big fagbus (SUV). SUV drivers are worse than BMW drivers, worse than Volvo drivers, even worse than little old asian lady drivers (although they are sometimes one and the same).

Even a Maxima, or a Stanza would work nicely. Or if you didn't necessarily want to stay with Nissan, you could also consider the Camry. But please for the love of god, do not get a loser cruiser aka minivan...they are just :gay:

D00d I KNOW all about the Stagea!!! Frick if they were available in the USA I woulda been ALLLLLL OOVVVVVERRR it Long time ago! hahaha I LOVE those cars so much.

As for a WRX, it was a toss up between the WRX and my Altima to start off with, altima had more room, and I can sit back as far as I want without hitting the car seat, with my kid in it. And now that I have another kid on the way, I want more room...

I searched and looked all day today, found out the NEW PATHFINDER, NOT ARMADA PATHFINDER is being released I am going to pick one up. But I maybe making a trip out to Oregan to pick one up. I have a fren there that is head of Financing @ a Nissan Dealership and he said he can hook me up...WAY BETTER then Hawaii prices! haha

so thats what I'm goin for 270hp VQ35DE (FINALLY) 7pass Pathfinder! Luckily my 02 Altima is paid off already! :)

You do realize that the chaser and the stagea aren't available where sleepNS12 lives right?

Fazmo, what are you trying to do to my poor friend Sleepn? Pointing out the Chaser and the Stagea, both cars that, as a resident of the United States, are not available to him. Stop the torture! :wall:

Sorry to hear you're having such trouble with the Alty, Sleepn. 14 grand limits the options a bit if you're looking at a brand new car, I've actually heard a lot of good things about the new Hyundai Sonata.

It kind of ticks me off that Hyundai seems to be building such good cars these days. Thank God Kia came long to make fun of......but I understand they're owned by Hyundai now, so that probably won't last either.

Sorry boys, didn't mean to tease. But surely there are some good cars in the US ...I mean they're not all tanks and Hondas are they?
As for the Maxima ...it may be a Nissan but it's still an arse dragger. You guys do have Subies don't you?
Well maybe I should leave it up to the Americans who know what cars you do and don't have. Surely there are some cars in that country of yours that aren't gay.

Yes we get Subies...some of them at least...but as with the good Nissan engines, most of the good subie engined cars did not. Plus Canada doesn't ge tthe EVO VIII because of crash testing :wtf:. PLus finding a good car for under 14,000 is even more difficult...in fact it is down right near impossible. If you wanted new, I only have a few suggestions for that range. Those would be the Corolla, Suzuki Aerio, Mazda 3, and maybe a base model VW Golf, or Jetta

SLEEPNS12date not saved · #11

oh yea my bad....we decided we could afford more! looks like $14,000 would be our downpayment if anything. Sell the Altima, and we could use the money as downpayment. We already have the title for the car.

Like I said above, A suby would be great to have, but not enuf room. its even smaller then my alty...I dont need it to be performance orianted, thats what the S12 is for (I'm just hoping I aint gonna need to sell it to get more cash anytime soon)

Well if you want something with room for the kids, all the creature comforts and don't need a ripsnorting quarter mile machine then I'd buy a Euro car. Surely they can't be any more expensive over there than they are here.
Look for a Peugeot 405 or an Audi A4 (preferably Quattro but that'll cost more). Somebody mentioned a "Jetta" ...if I'm not mistaken that's your crazy backwards American name for the Bora ...or Passat, both of them great cars. Hey I don't suppose you guys got the Bora 4motion did you? With the kind of money you're spending you might be able to get your hands on one. Uses the Audi Quattro AWD system (the original and the best) and a beefy V6. More cupholders and crap than you can point a Bratwurst at but it's not one of those flashy fagmobiles so you won't stick out like a university graduate at a George W Bush campaign rally.
Clean neat, fast and very comfortable. ...of course there's always the possibility you don't have them. If so, sorry I'll just shut up and butt out.
God bless.

Yes, the Jetta is the American name for the Bora. If you're looking for a nice Jetta, as a avid VW fan, I'd reccomend a new GLi, a very nice family sedan. However, I've been a pasenger in many MKIV Jettas, and I can tell you there is almost NO room in the backseat. Now granted, I'm bigger than most child seats, but with the seat moved mostly forward, my knees still dug into the front seat. I'd have to say there is more room in the back of my S12, but that's just what I found. Maybe someone else would beg to differ. The Jetta wagon is much more roomy, and with a 1.8T, has more get up and go than you would expect to see from a station wagon (ricers are embarrassed when your family station wagon blows their Hondas doors off). If you're looking at an Audi, but don't care too much about the luxury features, you could save money by buying a Passat. Same thing as an A4.

I don't have any advice about Japanese sedans, I've only ever owned coupes.

SLEEPNS12date not saved · #14

ah if I was gonna buy an Audi I'd go with an A6 or something....but like I said I'm lookin for a 7passenger vehicle now, and that means cars are out of the question.....and u can forget about gettin a SCION, where am I suppose to put all my luggage!? haha
