The car you in is an ef (88-91 I think) civic hatch with a b16 dynoed at 436 hp and 306 ft lb tq, give or take a few hp I cant really remember. It is racing a R32 skyline.

:bow: OMG!!!!! man is that car fast. Wonder what the car looks like, cause thats nasty. Normally I cant stand Hondas, but.......no arguin with that.
I don't know, didn't even look like the guy in the skyline was trying. (Its ok, its ok....yah...the guy driving the skyline wasn't trying or just can't drive it...). IF this is for real and that skyline was really pushed, and the Civic still walked on it like that, then DAMN thats a fast car. I refuse to believe that was an actual race....denial....isn't it great. NOthing should be able to touch our beloved Skyline.
It's not that hard to believe. The Skyline looks stock or close to stock, so a car that gives up 500+ pounds and 100+ whp it is going to loose plain and simple.
Bet he aint going to get 100k out of that engine. Must be a huge task to get that thing to hook up on the line, maybe thats why they were all ready moving. Off the line the Skyline probably has the advantage, even stock. Sorry, just a little anti-Honda and Dream of having a Skyline. Seeing a Honda beat a Skyline really hurts.
come on people. the skyline would have lost hands down anyways if those #'s are correct. THink about weight distribution in that civic vs that loaded RB skyline.
Just cause its a Honda, dosent mean its slow. You gotta watch out, some hondas will eat you and t here is nothing you can do about it.
look @ about 53sec into that vid, look at that tach on that civic it goes to AT LEAST 10,000RPM...its built! haaha
so a skyline loses to a civic....theres always a car out there faster then u are...u win some u lose some...
ya, it's amazing some of the sleepers that are out there. I lost to a kid one day in a 4 door mazda 626. when I caught up to him at the next set of lights, he showed me the big silver bottle in the trunk with NOS on it. Looked like a soccer moms car tho.
if the hp levels where the same the skyline would have won... itd have way more torque and would have jumped on the civic and kept the lead
it's still a sad to see a Nissan getting betten by Civic .
If I'm not mistaken, there's a lot more to it than just torque ...
Gearing
Traction
Mass
Aerodynamics
Torque Curve
etc.
So I wouldn't necessarily say that if the Skyline had the same amount of horsepower, it would win ...

Except cars that are faster, say that civic, or anything else that is faster for that matter....skylines are nice enough but definitely not all conquering once you get into aftermarket world, almost anything can be a weapon if you know what you are doing, just some cars easier than others (ie turbos).

Also a civic type-r does 7sec 0-60mp/h... probably chop most CA18ETs
The bloke in the skyline was either asleep or not bothering, so obvious, dont get me wrong i like honda's but this is just dumb. lets see both cars screaming rather than stop-start, i can say i beat an FD because I overtook him on the motorway, but if he doesnt want to try, then there is no race.
That said, I love that lil Civic!, Skylines are not as good as you think people! yep they are sexy, yep in Grand Turismo u can get em all the way to 1000BHP but they are not all powerful!
Just my opinion, I would love a skyline, whatever one it was :love:
