the other thread was too cluttered and people wouldn't find these pics..so here are the pics guys.

sorry for the grainyness and the discoloration. it was a lil dark out so I had to turn up the exposure a lot.

so, do you guys like the height? I know, people would prolly want it slammed, but honestly, being able to run over speed bumps w/o having to crab walk is what I love about his height. also, there's about a 5/8" rake with the rear a lil higher. I like it. gives a good stance.

so, can I give Canuck Motorsports an "okay" to get these things into full production?

$150 - $170CDN + shipping would be the approximate price. for those close by, or who wanna make a road trip, you can pay, and I can pick up the springs and you just come pick up the springs from my place. you save on shipping..but then there's gas $$

details:
front lowered - 1.75"
front spring rate - 325lbs/in(original 148lbs/in)

rear lowered - 175"
rear spring rate = 275lbs/in(original 131lbs/in)

send e-mails to [email removed]

also, there is one pair of rear springs with the 250lbs/in rate and 1.25" drop. I don't know what they'll do with those. you can see if they'll sell that one set at a discount if you wish. no gaurantee tho. I'm just saying they have it, dunno if they'll sell or just chuck out.

nizmo200date not saved · #2

for me it will have to be after I take care of the rear end problem I have but, if you can get them into production, I would definately say YAY

Indecisivedate not saved · #3

getting them into production isnt' gonna be more than me calling them to say "go ahead and make em"

slosc2date not saved · #4

have you had a camber check yet? im curious to see what you get as everyone has a different idea as to what it will be.

Indecisivedate not saved · #5

the camber kit will basically bolt onto the existing toe adjustment dealie.

unlike the other one where you drill a hole and mount higher, this will be a Welded on bracket that will be strong enough to handle it. unlike the other camber kit. another option is to take off the current bracket, and move it higher then weld it back on. that'll make it permanent tho.

they've looked at the car and stuff, and they're currently working on some designs and stuff for the kit.

but the basic idea is there.

slosc2date not saved · #6

reason i ask, judging by the pictures, rear camber does not appear to be as bad as most are making it to be. :D

Indecisivedate not saved · #7

yea, that's what I thought too.

Uglyoldnissandate not saved · #8

If you give them the word I will absolutely buy a set. My springs are shot to hell and for that price you can't go wrong. Count me in for a set for sure.

Jmac279date not saved · #9

I can't believe you actually put a RevScene.net decal on your headlight ...

I wouldn't want to be associated w/ most of the people there :p

YankeeDrifterdate not saved · #10

this is the best I could do for before pics..sorry.
What do you mean?

rear lowered - 175".
damn... if that's not slammed, I don't know what is

Put me down... how much do they weigh?

Indecisivedate not saved · #11

the pictures are REALLY bad quality...

hahaha, the springs may have a big drop, but when they're ont he car, it looks pretty high still.

look for pics of the Jap S12s...they have like 3" ground clearance and like NO fender gap.

I thought that's what most of you guys wanted.

as for weight, sorry, I dunno. didn't think to weight them..heh

YankeeDrifterdate not saved · #12

What I meant was are those pics of the full car in the last section of pics of the car with the new springs on it?

I was kidding about it being slammed. you forgot a decimal.

hahaha oh :p

ANYWAYS. the very last two pics were pictures I took in the summer with a GOOD camera. no lowering springs in yet. just helping you guys compare before and after, although it's a little hard.

YankeeDrifterdate not saved · #14

oh, it looked a little high for a drop

oldschoolsilviadate not saved · #15

Looks good to me, tell them to start making them I will buy a set. :headbang:

Indecisivedate not saved · #16

alright, if nobody has any objections then, I'll give them the "okay" to put these things into production on monday

youthanasiadate not saved · #17

Indy, if you need better pics, I can meet up with you and snap some pics. Let me know. PM me. I'm curious too, can I have a ride in it?

Cheers;
Peter

Indecisivedate not saved · #18

nah, won't be needing better pics until my rims and kit is on.

as for ride..you're gonna have to wait until my seats are back in(ps..you're not driving off my car w/o me ahhahaha)

iliRandyilidate not saved · #19

Damn Indy!!! Your front castor is way off! It is even more screwed than mine was when I first put the s14 arms in. The sport drop looks good thugh. :) I want to see it with the correct castor.

Indecisivedate not saved · #20

it may have been like that before, but I didn't notice it until after the last time I was practicing drift and went head on into a curb at around 30km/h lol

is our caster adjustable?

are you using larger tires than stock? cause yours fill up the wells so much more than mine do...

iliRandyilidate not saved · #21

No. :( It isn't. Did you replace your tention rod brackets? One of times I screwed up mine I replaced everything but the brackets and it did this. Also most of the junk yard countrol arms bent like a banana slightly. I couldn't tell that they where bent untill I put it on.

Nemisisdate not saved · #22

OOOH, OOOOOO!!!! I want a set!!!

YankeeDrifterdate not saved · #23

How's camber? you've probably already mentioned this, and how do you think wear charasteristics will be?

Indecisivedate not saved · #24

from what I can SEE, camber isn't much worse than what I had before..which isn't much. so wear seems to be good.

but I've had it on for less than a week.

i honestly don't think a camber kit is necessary. the rear toe is thrown out tho. lotsa toe out.

Jessedate not saved · #25

you can count me in for a set this is a killer deal

YankeeDrifterdate not saved · #26

Do we have adjustable toe? Can you tell I want a set?

Indecisivedate not saved · #27

yes, toe is adjustable.

I'll call monday afternoon(when I wake up) to give them the go ahead.

200sxkitcardate not saved · #28

Wow, that is a high spring rate, I like. How does it handle as far as being neutral, understeer, oversteer? Compared with before. How is ride quality, how diminished has it gotten? And, the biggest question (sorry just caught this, but) can these people send them to the US? Because that is a good price.

Indecisivedate not saved · #29

it feel pretty neutral. but I haven't pushed it. in the rain the tires spin easily cause there's no power wasted when the car squats.

the ride quality is noticably rougher, but it's not too bad. you really feel it pulling into a driveway with a high curb tho.

yes, they ship to the US.

NeedCAforS13date not saved · #30

i'm in :) when will they be available?

Sean

Indecisivedate not saved · #31

pretty sure they'll be ready for distrubution by the end of the month.

but I'll have to ask to confirm 2morrow.

SR12detdate not saved · #32

24.5 inch front
24 3/4 inch rear

Are this specs of the ride hieght with the new springs that you posted before the springs setle. If not how much more would the ride hieght drop after the springs broke in.

Johnnyfivedate not saved · #33

Ok so finally I look at springs to lower my car. Every time I heard of people lowering thier car I was like "What! Are these morons on crack? I know my springs have sagged but it couldn't possibly be that bad. I'll pass on this"

well indy's pics and mine prove that if you want to sit real low all you have to do is wait a while.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/Johnnyfive/passnegerrear.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/Johnnyfive/driverrear.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/Johnnyfive/driverfront.jpg

my god any way I might get me a set too of the 1in. drops

Indecisivedate not saved · #34

you're forgetting though, that waiting a while = sagging springs

and sagging springs means your spring rate is down by quite a bit.

the springs I have on are doubled the spring rate...so no cushy soft feel like you get with sagged ones ;)

AND...the height is uniform.

well, I haven't been able to contact them today yet. I'll try again later. but they may be on holidays or something.

either way, if I cant get them today, I'll call 2morrow.

glad youre keeping up with this indy. im now getting very very interested in them as i believe i sold one of my saturns today, and that will leave me with a nice chunk of change to start modifying with. so now im wondering what the exchange rate is. i live in the u.s. i was guesstimating they would be around $180 or so??

And to anyone else that can answer this, I have the Tociko Illumina 5 way adjustable shocks for the 280zx front, 300zx rear. As I had last understood it, i could use these shocks with the appropriate springs from JCWhitney. My question is, can i keep these shocks and use them with the newfound blessing of the 200sx springs?? Id hate to give these up, as bolt in nice shocks are few and far between with the s12. These were also a little pricey, and i am really looking forward to trying them out. Hopefully they will :D

Hmmm, for kicks I just went out and measured my S12 with the "supposed" 1.00 inch drop tokico springs......to compare to Indy's 1.75 inch drop customs.
Looking at the pics of Indys measurments......mine appears to actually sit lower....
Rear 24.00 inches
Front 24.25 inches
Maybe that explains why my rear camber is at -3 degrees??
Randy......does your S12 with tokicos sit this low?
Mine couldn't have possibly settled that much within 3 years. Maybe false advertising from Tokico??
Comparing them side-by-side....the Tokico's were a LOT shorter laying on the ground next to the stockers.

Spooleddate not saved · #40

Hey Keith. That's where mine sits with 205/60/15's. Right about 24in in the rear, but my front is a bit lower than yours at around 23.75". So, yes, that's why you're at 3 degrees, same as me.

Keithdate not saved · #41

You have Tokicos too I think? The height difference between mine and yours in the front must be from the extra weight of your VG.
Did you take a measurment with the oe springs before the Tokicos went on? I didn't even think about. I'm curious what the stock height use to be?
Cuz......something doesn't make sense here, since ours with Tokicos are sitting lower that Indys 1.75 drop springs.

Spooleddate not saved · #42

No, I have a Ground Control coilover kit installed in the front and am using Eibach 400lb/in springs. In the rear I'm using the stock springs, just cut down to the height I wanted. I NEED stiffer springs in the rear. lol

Ok before I seal the deal and a order a set, these will fit on a 84 notch just making sure. Please dont get too mad at me if this question has already been answered.

Thanks

Bailey

Indecisivedate not saved · #45

the front will.

I have NO idea about the rear tho cause the '84 notch is solid axle.

do some research on the forum to find out if you can use the same springs with solid axle, or ask somebody

This sucks.................... :disgust:

BOSSMANdate not saved · #47

Well, I went out and measured my S12 with the "1 inch drop" Suspension Techniques springs and I got 25 inch rear and 25 1/2" front. Since I have the bigger 205/60/15 tires instead of the 195/60/15 that Indy has, the adjusted measurements should be 24 3/4 rear and 25 1/4 front.

SR12detdate not saved · #48

I have the Tokicos 1 inch drop as well and my car with 205\50\16 front and 225\50\16 rear sits like so: front 25.5 inchs rear: 25 inchs

NO CAMBER PROBLEMS!........maybe cause i have wide rear tires. :D

I just got my Email today, they are done and ready to ship so I bought mine!!! :banger:

yea, They're going ahead with the 1.25" springs.
