Lets expand on this and add what LSD can be swapped in since its dealing with the tranny somehow, has anybody installed the 240SX VLSD in their 200? Is this possible? and somebody post up the tranny code as well..

I know Dave Lum of www.datsuns.com used to use a Subie rear end in his awesome VG30DE (soon to be VG30DETT) 510. Maybe you could ask him, he used to be on the yahoo group he knows a lot about S12's.

I say 240SX because I remember that they came with R200's... So did some old Z if somebody remembers...

nice info on the gear boxes. as far as LSD's, I dont think the 240sx will work, I beleive they are a short snout design. hwoever, 87 to 89 300zx turbo cars have LSD and they are a straight swap in to older 240Z thru 280ZX's. the R200 4.11 rear out of a 200sx turbo is also a straight swap into older Z cars. so, i would assume that a 87 to 89 300zx turbo LSD would bolt right into a S12.

The old subies that used a datsun rear. 4wd only!! and they should have a 3.9 or 3.91 gear. The gear ratio was offset just enough in these cars that is was an offroad only use!!!!!! If the front was 3.9 then the rear was 3.91 or vise versa?
The old z cars that got the R200 were the 2+2's and the turbos.
As for the 240 diff all I need is the time and a few kind words! And I will have one along with the 16" 5 lug wheels TB shifter. etc..... icon_smile.gif
Basically put anything off of the car. If anyone is interested in any of the other parts just let me know.
