custom fuel rail
Ya I was wondering about that, the reason I had initially proposed one made of brass. As long as it gets a good coating tho it should be OK.

nice job man. was that formerly a chair leg?
you laugh but I bet you want it when it's ready icon_biggrin.gif
I do that's for sure. No more bugle tubing, and it'll have ports for other stuff too.

hey bart, just out of curiosity, is this rail going to be made for top feeds with a barb, i.e. like the 200? Or are you going to use 0-ringed style of injectors. me personally i prefer 0-ring, they are alot easier to change and they can be found in a wide variety of car. which makes upgrading very easy. also when you get the rail done and it has been properly tested then i would like one. but instead of having two extra ports i just want one. instead of useing the factory crap regulator i am going to use a vortech sfmu (oohhhh they are sweet)
I wasnt laughing at anything, just curious about what materials hes using.
Whats the difference between side feed and top feed?
top feed
side feed

hmm ic. thanks.
About those stock fuel pressures.....On CA18ET
in idle 2.068427 BAR/30 psi
Accelerator pedal fully depressed 2.55106 BAR/37 psi
fuel pump max. 4.3-4.9 BAR /62.36623 - 71.06849 psi
for advice, i use adjustable regulator ripped from Ford Cosworth.Range is 2-3.5 Bar.

yeah this sounds like a cool little project...i have a question though...ya'll talk about adding a 5th injector...where does it 'inject' and how do you go about installing it? i understand on the fuel rail side, but into the engine...would you just tap a new hole or what? it sounds easy since everyone keeps talking about it, but tapping a hole and goin through all that just seems incredibly difficult..maybe there's just something i dont know...just tryin to clear up my mental picture.
the injector itself would be a cold start injector from any car that utilized a cold-start system. You will also need a pressure sensitive switch to send 12V to the injector (or relay for the injector) to trigger the 5th injector.
the hole would be drilled approx. 6" infront of the throttle body's throttle plate. that will create the best distribution of the gas throughout all of the intake runners.
this thread goes over more details. (cough) search (cough)
