t25 direct bolt up... doh!

recently i got a t25 from an s13 to swap in next spring. it's supposed to be a direct bolt in for the t2 but i've found it's not so direct after all icon_confused.gif

my main problem is the down pipe, the shape and bolt pattern to the turbo exhaust is different and i don't have the down pipe for the t25 yet (but i should be getting it soon). this also means the gasket is different as well.

also, the compressor outlet is a bolted flanged coupling. i should be getting the mating flange and i can weld that to a pipe, but getting a gasket for the flanges might prove to be difficult.

so... any north american cars that use the t25 that i can get a turbo gasket kit from? i know the dsms used a t25 but with a different ex mani pattern. on the off chance that i don't get the downpipe, anyone have any bright ideas. making a custom one looks like big$$

not 100% bout america but, as far as JDM is concerned

T25's only came out on the Twin Turbo Z's, ie Z32

Z31's only used the Single turbo setup (filthy exh manifold that loops round the back of the block!!) running a T3.

So which T25 is it that will bolt up? I have a Garrett T25 off of the Bluebird SR20DET, will this work? The exaust elbow looks very similar to the T2.

so sschung does your flange look like this? posted image

because I'm looking at my old T2small gasket and it is a match. If your flange looks like this Steve it should bolt right up.

sschungDec 2, 2003, 8:30 am · #8

yeah, the TURBINE INLET is a match. it's the turbine OUTLET that won't work on the t2's O2 downpipe. so all you potential t25 guys, grab the O2 downpipe while you're at it!

go to your local nissan dealer and ask for the exhaust manifold gasket for the 86 200sx turbo it is the same as the t25

sschungDec 13, 2003, 9:39 am · #16

the exhaust mani gasket is fine. it's the turbo outlet to downpipe gasket i'm getting from out of country (since i can't seem to find it here).

JohnnyfiveDec 13, 2003, 1:30 pm · #17

The nissan dealer will have that gasket for the downpipe. The t25 from the U.S. Spec (at least Z32 as far as I absoluetly know) is the same as the T25 from overseas

Part numbers...

14415-17M00 Turbine inlet gasket (turbo to manifold)
14465-Y0P03 (either compressor inlet or outlet flange gasket)
14465-Y0P02 (either compressor inlet or outlet flange gasket)

Above taken from 1990 300ZX TT

I didn't get the part number for the downpipe to turbo gasket however it was shown in the parts illustration and looked similiar to my T25's downpipe mating surface. If you wish I will get a part number as soon as I can. The parts above plus exh manifold gaskets cost me about $24

woah! thanks for the pns. i've already got all the gaskets i need except for the turbo outlet to downpipe gasket. i'm getting that from the guy i bought the turbo off of (he's sending me the downpipe as well).

i didn't check with the 90's 300ztt's t25 gaskets, BUT the t25 from the 88 300zt (single turbo) does NOT have the same turbo outlet to downpipe profile as the one i have (s13's t25). maybe i'll check out the 1990 300ztt gasket too (altho the dealer doesn't like me already for ordering gaskets that i can't use icon_smile.gif )
