Alright.................don't laugh, but in prepration to yank out my CA18ET, and tranny, I was studying the FSM, when I noticed the pics of the engine lift brackets. Thinking I've never noticed theese brackets before, I went out to investigate. Just as I thought......I didn't see any!!! Where the hell are the lifting brackets on the ET motor???
According to the FSM the front one looks like it should be right below the front valve cover screw on the left side of the head. On mine, there is a threaded hole where I think it is suppose to be...........directly below the front left valve cover screw. Is this where it is suppose to be at??
How about the back one? The FSM shows the one you are suppose to use when removing the tranny to be on the back left of the intake manifold?? Maybe around the Pop-up valve somewhere? There is a black bracket that curves around towards the EGR, but no engine lift bracket.
The FSM also shows the back bracket for lifting without the tranny on the back right below the valve cover.....once again, nothing there!!
Is anyone else missing these brackets? I've had the car since 1989, and have never noticed there ever being brackets sticking up like in the FSM.
Are they suppose to be there?

those brackets dont come supplied on the engine when you purchase the vehical, you have to get them from somewhere. there are some cars that come with them on there, but most do not. the one in the fsm might possibly have a part # associated with it if you look arround, i have yet to recive my manual or i would look for you

when you rent or buy a cherry picker it will come with the tabs so you can then just use a bolt and bolt them onto the ham...
