What about Crank Angle Sensors for the CA18ET?
Do any other Nissan ones fit?
Anyone know where I could find OEM new ca18det connecting rods and pistons, I don\'t have money for forgies and I can\'t find them anywhere i can only seem to find forged pistons and rod which are expensive as hell more than the value of what I traded for the motor

from what I understand...the DE and DET use the same pistons and rods......which are avail at the nissan dealer. Last I checked the rods were like $75 each and the pistons were around $45 each.
Search on this site......they give online prices....................

thats only true for the rods, and only on the japanese CA18DE. The pulsar uses craptastically small rods, and all CA18DE use high comp pistons. Don\'t use high comp pistons, they will crack (even on stock boost). Ask me how I know
your best bet is finding somone with a used set. you won\'t find them new anywhere to my knowledge, and if you did, they\'d probably be almost as expensive as forged ones after you ship them half way around the world.
ebay or a lucky uk member that happens to have a set in the shed
Well, chances are now Paul and I will use the money from parting out the 85 Turbo to completely build the CA18DET to spec using forged parts. We\'re guna go to town on the internals and upgrade stuff like the turbo from stock later on.
How about the starter? Did I miss it? I didn't see it listed above. Does the ca18et starter bolt up and work on the ca18det/ 5 spd?
my 20e starter bolts up to my bellhousing (b tranny, so i would hope it would) and doesnt colide with anything on the block. I think it should be able to turn the engine over fast enough.
Just to be sure, will CA18de spark plugs work in the DET? It sounds reasonable to me but above it looks like you suggested using the ca18et plugs. I have some for the pulsar lying around...
How about the valve cover gaskets? Didn't see them listed on the list. Do I use ca18de valve cover gaskets?
Also, what about the oil pan gasket? The list says "ca18 all", do I use ca18de or ca18et? If it's ca18et which year, because mk1 ca18et uses a 1 piece gasket, and the mk2 ca18et uses a 2 piece gasket......or does it not matter.
Also, what about the intake mani gaskets? Again the list says "ca18 all" so do I use ca18de gaskets? Can't be for the ca18et as it has a 1 piece intake mani......possibly ca20e s12 gaskets would work as it has a 2 piece intake mani, but not sure.
I need to get these, so some clarification would help lots.
valve cover gaskets = pulsar
intake mani gaskets = pulsar
I think, but am not sure, that oil pan gasket = pulsar as well.
sam31183valve cover gaskets = pulsarThank you sir..............ordered them today, so i'll find out if they are all the right ones....

I havent had any issues with the valve cover gaskets and the intake mani gasket as of yet. I think I may have wanted to switch the plenum gasket...but eh, if worse comes to worse it will take me like 15 to 30mins to pull that thing out when i am done. Total pwnage.
what do you mean you havne't had issues with the gaskets yet...you haven't even started the car. Of COURSE there was no issue! lol

valve cover and upper and lower intake manifold gaskets are all ca18de pulsar stuff. Throttle body is 240sx if you're running a KA throttle body. Otherwise its ca18de pulsar too. I have used them for awhile now. perfect replacement. oil pan front and rear seals are also pulsar, use rtv silicone for the rest.

bump... wait this is stickied... alternator?
Clutch from det work on et?
Also, pistons from et the same as det?
Does any USDM engine use the same fuel injectors as the CA18DET?
guys will a universal o2 sensor work aswell? or what?
How about valve seals. I don't need a full head set just need valve seals. Anyone know?
Does anyone know where I can get intake gaskets for the first generation ca18det? Can't seem to find any with the oblong ports.

UK market parts suppliers will be your best bet. Thats where those heads were most common. You could also make the gasket yourself from gasket paper
Was wondering if anybody happened to know if the oil pan from this year car will also fit on the CA18DET?
From what car?
