Timing Question

How do you put the engine on timing and what are the timing specs.......Thanks

what are you after? the ignition timing? cam/chain timing marks? distributor timing marks?

you might need to be a bit more specific sorry...

if its ignition timing (using a timing light on #1 cylinder lead) your after, then its about 15 to 17 degress BTDC for a stock computer usually. i can get away with 18 degrees max on mine with no I/Cooler, and our crud pump gas...

I was after the ignition timing but i timed it today. But one thing is wrong i have white smoke coming out from the exhaust so i think im burning oil sad.gif need some help.......

Um usually white smoke is coolant...you sure you don't have a blown head gasket??? what is your compression??

I dont know what the compression is i never checked it but the car isnt smoking anymore. The car was sitting for like 3 months so maybe it was from it sitting so long.
