i was shopping for a CA18DET online
i was wondering whats the most reliable site
cheapest shipping?
quality engines??
y is the ignitor chip and maf sold seperately?
and $100 for each one?
do i want the trans w/ it?
is it different from the one on my 85 ET 5 speed?

when i did motor swaps on my other cars i dealt with a few companies but i did my research on them first....here is who i reccomend:

there are other good companies out there as well....the good companies charge a little more and its obvious why when you get the motor..they are in alot better shape, un-cut harnesses, better warranty, clean, and packed better....

if you are in the market for a ca18det swap id get a complete swap or a front clip...that way you will have 99 percent of what you need. and then you can make some money selling the RHD stuff to an s13 guy. ca18det's are getting older now, there are still some well maintained low mileage motors out there but no matter how good it looks your gonna want to do the following when you get it:
change:
timing belt and all associated parts
water pump
spark plugs
compression check
new thermostat
replace gaskets
0-2 sensors

Get a front clip! Take it from a guy who didn't. The front clip is well worth it.

And remember that you get what you pay for. The lowest price is the lowest for a reason.

Never dealt with them but they seem good. *shrug* Or I could be wrong and they suck major ass.

Exactly...............take it from someone who did get a clip. Got mine from www.jarcoinc.com If you want a good engine, go with them. They personally go to japan and test drive running cars. Once they pass their inspection, they cut the clip, crate it up, and send it to the US. I paid $1900 for my clip. Give them a call, and ask for Michael.
If you want cheap, go with Flash Options, or Venus. You'll wish you spent a few extra hundred bucks when you have problems with it
