Two Cooling Fans? One Stays On After The Car Is Shutoff? Odd...

The other day I was doing a tune-up, oil change, etc. I started the car up and let it run for about 10 minutes(for the sake of the oil-change). After I shut off the car and popped the hood I noticed something that sounded like an electrical motor. I looked around to find out what it was, and I found a small fan on the front side of the radiator, on the passenger side of the car. This is not to be confused with the standard cooling fan mounted in between the radiator and the engine. This fan stayed on for about 5 minutes then it shut off. I haven't had the car very long, but this is the first time I noticed this.

Does anybody know what purpose this fan does?
Its a '86 ca20e MK1.

its for the ac condenser, aka, the large radiator looking thing infront of the radiator

well, why would it continue to run after the car is shut off? I can understand if it was running while the AC was being used...

why does the fuel pump continue to run after the car is shut off, why does my high mount stop light not work using the regular wiring, but when piggybacked off the other stop lights on it, it works? why do my windshield wipers stop wherever the hell they feel like on the windshield. why does the vinyl on the doors harden and crack. why does my car run bad and nothing i do fix it? it happens, its old, thats why.

when my friend flogs his TL too hard, the fans run for awhile after the car is shut off

the secondary fan is run off a thermoswitch. its supposed to do that. common among most cars. if it doesnt ever shut off, then you have problems. bad resistor usually.

ever look under the hood of a car and see the sticker that says "caution, fan may operate even with key of"

as for the rest of the other guys problems with lights and wipers, fix it. thats not right.
