What belt do I get for PS? It seems like its hooked up but just needs a belt. That's what the previous owner told me as well.

How hard is it to do the s13 tranny swap? I got the tranny with the engine set and my s12 tranny is slowwwly dying out (3rd gear syncros are fuuuucked up).

as far as the s13 tranny in order to swap you need the ca18det bellhousing to swap onto the s12 unit and then you will have to enlarge the opening in your tranny tunnel as the s13's trannies tail section is longer the the s12 and then you will also need a custom driveshaft

The S13 tranny will bolt up to the 18det. You might have to modify your tranny mount a little for it to fit, although some have said it fits perfectly fine. You're gonna have to open up the shifter hole because the S13 shifter is going to sit back about an 1" or so. You're also gonna need a custom driveshaft, as Bart said, or the S13 front half onto your rear half. GL with the swap. Look around a bit more if you need more details. There was a sticky up somewhere.

Way to confuse people dude.

The S13 CA18DET transmissin bolts straight up to the engine.

You will need to:
- swap the speedo drive over from the S12 one,
- cut the hole in the tunnel for the shifter larger at the rear,
- move the console back slightly,
- bend the S13 shifter so that it clears the radio and parkbrake,
- fabricate a new transmission crossmember,
- fit the front half of a JDM tailshaft to your S12 tailshaft.

Is there anything I have missed?

What application is that belt for? Pulsar NX SE?

About the trans swap. You would be using the trans from your engine so its a bolt up affair.

But if for some reason the S13 trans you use is from a KA powered 240sx you will need to swap bellhousings from a 86, 87, or 88 ca20e S12 with the silvertop ca20. 87 and 88 are all silvertop but 86 could be silver or black. Only the silvertop comes with the C trans you need the bellhousing from. But... if you have to find a S12 C trans anyways why not just swap in that trans?

The driveshaft could either be a custom 1 piece or you could use the front section of the driveshaft that was originally mated to the trans you use. In your case you would have to hunt down the front section of a manual trans S13. Not auto and not S14.

Don't you love threads that just keep restating info? lol sorry guys

B and C CA bellhousings are interchangeable wink.gif

most of that sounds do-able except the driveshaft. anyone know a good, cheap, nor-cal mechanic with a boner for custom work?

No need for a custom driveshaft.

Just get a JDM S13 one from an import yard, and put the front half of it on yours.
